MAY 5, 2009 SOME STRUCTURE ADDED TO
LIMITLESS FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT!
This Saturday night's In Harm's
Way 3: Ray Mendez Fan Appreciation Night seems to have limitless
possibilities! NWA East's Championship Committee have taken the
week off to give NWA East's fans the power this Saturday, but
they haven't completely given up ALL the power...
This week, they will be choosing 3 of the most hated NWA East
stars. During the live event, fans will be read the list of
names. Based on the reaction from the live crowd, that wrestler
will receive a title shot against a popular NWA East champion,
who will be chosen the same way! The titles available to be
chosen from will be the Heavyweight Title (currently held by
Scottie Gash), Three Rivers Title (held by Gregory Iron), Brass
Knuckles Title (held by Jon Burton), and the NWA North American
Tag Team Titles (held by Brandon K & Scottie Gash)!
Also, throughout the night, fans will have the chance to choose
two singles matches, as well as a tag team match, plus much much
more! The possibilities are endless, and the power is in YOUR
hands!
APRIL 21TH 2009 NORTH AMERICAN TAG TITLE
MATCH ADDED TO THIS SATURDAY!
The new NWA North American Tag Team Champions Brandon K &
Scottie Gash are wasting no time in defending their titles! Gash
already has a title defense against one of his trainers and the
winner of BUrgh Brawl 13, Mad Mike. But, Brandon K has a bone to
pick with Ashton Amherst, Patrick Hayes, James Ross, & Krystal
Frost. During K's Circle of Respect induction, the fearsome
foursome of the future stormed the ring from all sides,
attacking Brandon and his inductor and cousin, Vince
"Big Time"
Kaplack. Patrick Hayes will not be in town, but Ashton Amherst &
James Ross will be, and they will be forced to face the
consequences! It will be Ashton Amherst & James Ross taking on
the NWA North American Tag Team Champions Brandon K & Scottie
Gash!
As mentioned earlier, Gash will be defending the NWA East
Heavyweight Championship against Mad Mike. Mike made his return
to NWA East a month ago, much to the surprise of everybody in
the building. He quickly made an impact, winning Burgh Brawl 13
his first time stepping through the ropes in over a year. Gash
came face to face with Mike and reminded the crowd that Mike had
a hand in training him. It will be student vs. teacher as
Scottie Gash faces Mad Mike for the title! But Gash will still
be without the actual belt, as it has been stolen by Shirley
Doe! Will Doe stick his nose in the title match?
Doe will have his hands full earlier in the evening as he takes
on Chris LeRusso! These two men picked up where they left off
months ago in Burgh Brawl. LeRusso was beaten and battered by
Doe, but was fighting valiantly against the Madman from Dixmont
in Burgh Brawl. What will happen as these two tangle once again?
It seems the "Dream Lover" Kid Cupid has returned to NWA East!
However, he is still not contracted to wrestle after being
defeated by Benjamin C. Steele, Krystal Frost, and Stacy Hunter.
All the managers have protested Cupid's return, with Hunter
being the most vocal. Maybe it was because Cupid stopped her and
Dash Bennett from attacking Shawn Patrick. But either way, she
has said she'll do anything to keep Cupid from coming back to
NWA East. Joe Dombrowski has actually been sympathetic to her
cause, as he is the man in charge of upholding the rules and
rulings of the Championship Committee, and Cupid's banishment in
September was such a ruling. So Hunter has placed here newest
charge, Criss Crossfire, in Cupid's way! It'll be Kid Cupid vs.
Criss Crossfire, and if Cupid wins, he gets his job with NWA
East back!
The rest of the title matches set for Crossfire 2 were
determined by events during Burgh Brawl 13! The new NWA East Tag
Team Champions The Franchise Players will take on "Hot Property"
Jason Cage & "The Steel City Prodigy" Ryan Mitchell, as both
Cage & Mitchell eliminated Jon Kronica & Robert Beverly during
Burgh Brawl. The newly belt-less Crusher Hansen begins his
attempt to regain gold as he takes on NWA East Brass Knuckles
Champion Jon Burton after Hansen eliminated Burton from Burgh
Brawl. Dash Bennett won the gauntlet scramble at Burgh Brawl
against Crossfire, Cage, and LeRusso and earned himself a shot
at Gregory Iron, no matter how underhanded his tactics were!
Tag team action is heating up in NWA East as we speak. After the
Franchise Players defeated Double Dragon to win the NWA East Tag
Team Title Tournament and the belts, they nearly continued their
attack, only to be cut off by the Straight Jacket Mafia. The
Franchise Players backed down... only for SJM to attack Double
Dragon! Syko Sean Dahmer, in a rare speaking moment, told the
crowd if they wanted to know why they did what they did, they'd
find out April 25th at Crossfire 2. While they tell the crowd,
they'll have to compete to become the #1 contenders to the tag
titles as they take on Double Dragon and the returning LA Gunz!
Why did SJM attack the Blue Dragons?!All this plus much much more!
APRIL 6TH 2008
HOT NEWS LEADING INTO BURGH BRAWL! BRANDON K TO BE HONORED!
The NWA East Championship Committee and members of the Circle of
Respect have come to an agreement that NWA North American Tag
Team Champion "First Klass" Brandon K will be honored this
Saturday night at Burgh Brawl. Brandon will be inducted as the
newest entrant into NWA East's own hall of fame, the Circle of
Respect!
Vince Kaplack,
Brandon's cousin, has agreed to be the inductor on behalf of
Brandon. This makes it a clean sweep as both members of the
Championship Committee, with the return of Shawn Patrick, and
spokesperson Joe Dombrowski will be in attendance at Burgh Brawl
13. This could spell a disaster for Dash Bennett and Stacy
Hunter for their outlandish actions at the previous live event,
trying to sneak the indefinitely suspended Devin Devine in the
back door to win the Heavyweight Title!
Also, the Championship Committee has decided that one of NWA
East's managers will be entered into Burgh Brawl 13! But, they
couldn't decide on which one to enter: Benjamin C. Steele,
Krystal Frost, or Stacy Hunter? So, they're leaving the decision
up to you, the fans! You can click
HERE
or on the front page of the NWA East website to vote for who
will be entered into Burgh Brawl 13!
Three more competitors have been entered into Burgh Brawl's
battle royal. The Bouncer makes his NWA East return, and Anthony
Saint and Lew Lindstrom will make their NWA East in-ring debuts.
This bumps the total entrants in Burgh Brawl up to 27, with the
additions of Bouncer, Lindstrom, Saint, and the fan-chosen
manager!
April 2nd 2008 MAD MIKE RETURNS FOR BURGH BRAWL,
PLUS MUCH MORE!
The NWA East Championship Committee has announced that NWA East
legend and 2004 Burgh Brawl winner Mad Mike will return for the
13th annual Burgh Brawl Battle Royal! The first talent list for
this Burgh Brawl on April 11th has been released:
Ashton Amherst Apollyon from the Straight Jacket Mafia
Axel from LA Gunz
Dash Bennett
Robert Beverly of the Franchise Players
Blue Dragon of Double Dragon
Blue Dragon of Double Dragon
NWA East Brass Knuckles Champion Jon Burton Syko Sean Dahmer of the Straight Jacket Mafia
Shirley Doe
Flea from LA Gunz
NWA North American Tag Team Champion Crusher Hansen
Patrick Hayes
NWA North American Tag Team Champion Brandon K
Jon Kronica of the Franchise Players
Chris LeRusso
Mantis
Ryan Mitchell
James Ross Criss Crossfire
Jason Cage
Mad Mike
Pittsburgh Wrestling Academy's newest graduate, "The One And
Only" David Swartz (with manager Greg Cherry)
That's 23 names already released! Ashton Amherst has already
been announced as entering at the #2 spot in Burgh Brawl, while
Brandon K will enter at #1, and Shirley Doe will enter at #30!
If you're a professional wrestler and would like to try-out for
NWA East before Burgh Brawl, almost guaranteeing yourself a shot
in the battle royal, e-mail
nwaeast@comcast.net by this Monday! IN previous Burgh Brawl
tryouts, NWA East has discovered Spyral BKNY, who went on to
compete for OVW and CZW, Sabotage who won the NWA East Brass
Knuckles Title, Tyrone Evans, who is now Tyson Tarver in WWE
Developmental Territory, and Teddy Fine, who captured the PWU
Heavyweight Title!
MARCH 19th, 2008 AMHERST ATTACKS BURTON ON TAPE,
BUT GETS A TITLE SHOT?!
This is a bizarre story. Ashton Amherst has been granted a title
shot. Krystal Frost petitioned the NWA East Championship
Committee to give Amherst a title shot after he has been
stripped of the Brass Knuckles Title. While usually, Director of
Authority Joe Dombrowski and company would just laugh in her
face after Amherst's behavior lately, this time the request has
been granted! Scottie Gash has stated that he is willing to take
on any and all comers that wish to challenge for his title, and
would love the chance to challenge himself against one more
participant! As a result, Amherst has been placed into the match
between Gash and Mantis, and it is now a three-way dance! The
winner of that match will move on to the four-way dance later in
the evening!
Here's the bizarre twist: today, Amherst e-mailed a disturbing
piece of video to the Championship Committee and Dombrowski. In
it, he attacks Jon Burton while a friend tapes it from a cell
phone. The committee has requested that we post the video
online:
Will Amherst show up for his title shot that his manager
demanded?! What is going on here?!
MARCH 19th, 2008 ARMAGEDDON RETURNS AS HANSEN MAKES
HIS TITLE DEMANDS
Earlier this week, we reported that Brandon K has chosen to
defend the NWA North American Tag Team Championship with his
partner, Crusher Hansen, against a team chosen online by the NWA
East fans. Crusher Hansen & Benjamin C. Steele were ENRAGED by
this action, and have gone to the Championship Committee and DOA
Joe Dombrowski about it. As a result, Hansen will get to
hand-pick a team to face the winners of the poll. If the winners
of the poll can get past Hansen's hand-picked team, they will
advance to the title match with K and Hansen.
Who is Hansen's hand-picked team? Hansen claims he has called in
a favor from his "old friends" Rapture & Revelation, Armageddon!
The odd twist to the story is that Armageddon has been unmasked
several times! A few years ago, the latest incarnation of
Armageddon were unmasked to reveal Dash Bennett & Sean Dahmer!
If you were to look back earlier in the NWA East history books,
Crusher Hansen even wrestled as Rapture to win a Burgh Brawl!
Does Hansen have a trick up his sleeve?
MARCH 16th, 2008 THE FALLOUT FROM SATURDAY LEADING
TO FALLOUT.2 ON FRIDAY MARCH 27TH
With Scottie Gash able to fend off one more contender to his
championship, he has issued a challenge to not only seven people
on the NWA East roster, but also himself. On March 27th, Gash
will defend his title not only in a singles match, but a
four-way dance as well! The singles match will see Gash defend
the NWA East Heavyweight Title against his former teammate,
Mantis! With Gash's old stable giving him trouble, he wants to
take them out as he sees fit. "Mantis is just the first step,"
Gash told NWAeast.org after Saturday's When Worlds Collide 2. "I
will get my hands on Doe and Ross, but their time will come."
The winner of Gash vs. Mantis will then move on to defend the
title in a four-way dance.
The other three spots in that match will be determined by
qualifying matches earlier in the evening. First off, Shirley
Doe will take on Blue Dragon. Doe is looking to get his hands on
Gash as well, while Dragon wants to pick up some momentum
leading into the NWA East Tag Team Tournament finals on April
11th. But what happens if Mantis wins the title and Doe makes it
to the four-way? Will these two friends do battle for NWA East
gold?
Another qualifying match will see the brand new NWA East Brass
Knuckles Champion Jon Burton take on Dash Bennett! Bennett feels
he was robbed of the belt because Scottie Gash introduced a sign
into the match (when in reality, it was Stacy Hunter). JB wants
to get his hands on Ashton Amherst, but is happy to hold the
Brass Knuckles Title until he can. Can he get a shot at bigger
gold on March 27th? Will Dash get another shot at the title
against Gash? Or will it be against his old rival Mantis?
The final qualifying match will see the wildly popular "Steel
City Prodigy" Ryan Mitchell take on... well... we're not quite
sure. We received word from Joe Dombrowski that Stacy Hunter has
stepped up to the plate and signed the contract for somebody of
her choice to take the spot against Mitchell. Who has Hunter
chosen? What is going on here?
Finally, the NWA North American Tag Team Champions Brandon K and
Crusher Hansen will make their first defense of the titles.
Brandon K sent word to NWAeast.org that due to his absence at
When Worlds Collide 2 due to unforseen circumstances, he has
offered the fans something in return. K and Hansen will take on
a team chosen by the NWA East fans here at NWAeast.org!
Apparently, Hansenand his manager Benjamin C. Steele are NOT
happy with the decision.

MARCH 10th, 2008 UPDATE: TAYLOR TO ADDRESS NWA EAST
STATUS THIS SATURDAY!
Last week, we reported on rumors surrounding Chris Taylor.
After his loss to Shirley Doe in the brutal and gruesome Three
Stages of Hell match, Taylor was overheard telling people he was
considering stepping away from professional wrestling for
various reasons.
After reading the story, Taylor contacted us here at NWAeast.org
and told us he WILL be at When Worlds Collide 2, this Saturday
night at the Jacob Woll Pavilion in Renziehausen Park in
McKeesport, PA. He will address the rumors of him leaving
professional wrestling during the live event with an
announcement to the crowd.
MARCH 5th, 2008 THE VIDEO BENJAMIN C. STEELE
DOESN'T WANT YOU TO
SEE!!!
For the last few weeks, NWA East webstaff and officials have
been attempting to get their hands on a backstage video taken
after the February 14th Valentine's Day Massacre 2 live event.
For over 2 weeks, Steele has been pelting us with legal threats,
letters from fictitious law firms, and even begging and
attempting bribery. But, really, he's annoying. Nobody likes
him, not even us. So, we'll post whatever we darn well please!
Here is the video he doesn't want you to see!
After Krystal Frost assisted Crusher Hansen in winning one-half
of the NWA North American Tag Team Championship, this situation
is getting much more interesting...
After his loss to Shirley Doe in a grueling and extremely
violent 3 Stages Of Hell Matchup, Chris Taylor has reportedly
told some people in the NWA East locker room that he is
considering walking away from professional wrestling for various
reasons.
Nothing more has been confirmed and at this stage it is all very
speculative.
Once more information is available, NWAEast.org will be the
first to report it.
MARCH 5th, 2008 MATCHES SIGNED FOR WHEN WORLDS
COLLIDE 2 ON MARCH 14TH!
After Scottie Gash left James Ross, Mantis, and Shirley Doe
following weeks of dissension in the group, he has signed for a
title defense for March 14th! He will defend the NWA East
Heavyweight Title against former NWA East Three Rivers, Brass
Knuckles, and Tag Team Champion Dash Bennett! With the ever-wily
Stacy Hunter by his side, and in his ear, Bennett's ego is out of
control. He has reportedly told anybody and everybody who will
listen that he will be the next NWA East Grand Slam Winner,
capturing every title currently active in NWA East! Can Dash Bennett
bring the NWA East Heavyweight Title to Dash Bennett Enterprises?
Will Ross, Mantis, & Doe have anything to say about the outcome of
this match?
Ross should make sure to pay attention to other things on his plate.
Gregory Iron will be cashing in his Three Rivers Title shot he won
thanks to the Golden Ticket Battle Royal! Iron came within inches of
capturing the NWA East Heavyweight Title immediately following his
battle royal victory. But thanks to Ross, Mantis, and Doe, Gash
retained the title, much to his own dismay. Without Gash on his
side, can Ross step up and actually become the "greatest champion
ever" that he currently claims to be? Will Iron's inspirational
story continue to shine and bring him gold in NWA East once again?
Shirley Doe will also be in action.
He will be taking on
"First Klass" Brandon K! Joe Dombrowski has signed this match that
should last more than two minutes with a healthy Brandon K not
having being beaten down just before the match like the last time
these two men met 2 months ago where Shirley Doe was sure to take
advantage of the situation to gain the win. Burgh Brawl 13
ramifications are on the line in this one as the winner of this
match will be granted the final draw in the big rumble-style match
while the loser will be the #1 entry in the match as The Road To
Burgh Brawl continues!
Crusher Hansen has signed to take on NWA East newcomer, the wildly
popular "Steel City Prodigy" Ryan Mitchell! Hansen has told
NWAeast.org sources that he feels Mitchell is taking his newfound
success and popularity for granted, and needs to be "taught a
lesson." Can Mitchell pick up another big win for his NWA East
resume against the former NWA National Champion and current one-half
of the NWA North American Tag Team Champions? Or will Hansen give
him a patented Crusher Hansen NWA East welcoming?
But one question
begs to be asked: why are the "new" champions not defending their
titles? Where does Hansen's new tag team partner
Brandon K stand in all this?
The NWA East Tag Team Championship Tournament rolls on through March
14th! The only semi-final match originally scheduled to take place
on March 14th will take place as scheduled. Apollyon & Syko Sean
Dahmer, the Straight Jacket Mafia, will take on their old nemesis
Jon Kronica and his new partner Robert Beverly, the Franchise
Players! The Players have grown leaps and bounds since their
"re-debut" in NWA East, and impressed fans, experts, and NWA East
officials alike with their recent performance in the first round
against the LA Gunz. Can the newest incarnation of the Franchise
Players defeat their old rivals, former 2-time NWA East Tag Team
Champions, the longest reigning tag team champions in NWA East
history, and a team who recently rediscovered their taste for
brutality and hunger for pain, the Straight Jacket Mafia?!
The other match in the semi-finals of the tournament was scheduled
to take place on March 27th. But, thanks to everybody's favorite
harlot, it has been pushed up to March 14th! NWA East Director of
Authority Joe Dombrowski discovered a plot in which Krystal Frost
attempted to take out a bounty on Blue Dragon and... um... Blue
Dragon. After Double Dragon defeated Dash Bennett & Stacy Hunter,
cementing their spot in the semi-finals against Frost's team of
Patrick Hayes & Ashton Amherst, Frost supposedly offered up a reward
to anybody willing to take out either Blue Dragon between then and
March 27th. Looking after the safety of the talent, Dombrowski moved
the match up two weeks to cut some time off of that bounty. Will
Hayes & Amherst be able to get past the new and unusual duo of The
Blue Dragons? Or can the Double Dragon shock NWA East once again and
move on to the finals?
One thing is for sure: Ashton Amherst should be watching over his
shoulder at every turn. Pittsburgh sports anchor Jon Burton
reportedly told NWA East officials that he is gunning for Amherst.
After the brash, cocky, and arrogant Amherst attempted to mock JB
backstage after he stole a victory from Burton, JB snapped and
attacked Amherst with the NWA East microphone! Since then, Burton
has had one thing on his mind: revenge!
Resident loudmouth and effeminate manager/announcer/annoyance
Benjamin C. Steele got a little too big for his britches on February
28th. With NWA East ring announcer Tony Summers temporarily
indisposed, Dombrowski had no choice but to turn to somebody who has
the most ring announcing experience in the NWA East locker room:
B.C. Steele. But he told Steele to drop the nonsense, the ridiculous
outfits, announce each match properly, do NOT screw up, and do NOT
interfere in any matches. But, of course, Steele's attention span
lasts for as long as you jingle the keys in his face, so either he
forgot, or he wasn't paying attention in the first place. During
Crusher Hansen's match with Brandon K, Steele interfered, wore his
ugly leopard-print jacket, and gave Hansen a ridiculously long,
biased introduction, as usual. As a result, Dombrowski ordered that
Steele must learn some respect. And what better what to learn
respect than by having some beaten into you by a member of the NWA
East Circle of Respect?! Dombrowski is once again offering NWA East
fans the chance to pick something on the NWA East live event! In an
online poll, fans can choose between all eligible members of the NWA
East Circle of Respect to face Benjamin C. Steele on March 14th! On
the ballot are NWA East President Jim Miller, NWA East Championship
Commitee members Shawn Patrick & Vince Kaplack, NWA East legend "The
One Man Party" Big Poppa Gator, former NWA North American Tag Team
Champion Paul Atlas, and former NWA North American Champion, and a
man who has beaten respect into Steele in the past, Quinn Magnum!

What began as a simple show of appreciation for NWA East and its
fans has turned into a rivalry nobody ever expected, which has
caused shockwaves all throughout Pittsburgh wrestling.
Pittsburgh sports anchor Jon BUrton had been accompanying his good
friend, former NWA East Heavyweight Champion Sterling James Keenan
to the ring for his title defenses. During that time, "JB" quickly
discovered how dedicated the NWA East fans, wrestlers, and staff
were to NWA East, the Pro Wrestling eXpress legacy, and the live
events NWA East has put on for over 14 years. One night, Burton
requested mic time to show his appreciation for the fans and NWA
East in general.
But Ashton Amherst would not allow that to happen. He had his own
run-ins with Burton throughout SJK's title reign, usually though
sneak attacks by Amherst at ringside. While Burton was in the ring,
he was interrupted by Amherst and told to never come back to an NWA
East ring again.
But BUrton did. And this time, he was prepared. Amherst attempted to
attack the sports anchor, only to find that Burton could fend for
himself! Apparently, Burton had been training under his friend SJK
and fended off AMhersts attack. But the second time, he was not so
lucky. Amherst once again attacked JB, but this time, he had help
from Patrick Hayes, Krystal Frost, and Big Dom. JB was not seen for
quite some time.... until recently.
JB returned to NWA East and was ready for battle with Amherst. He
even challenged Amherst to a tag match! But when the time came for
that match, the brash and arrogant Amherst was nowhere to be found,
leaving his partner Patrick Hayes to team with James Ross against
Burton and Chris Taylor. Ross picked up the win for his team, but
Burton was not satisfied. He has challenged Ashton AMherst to a
singles match! On February 28th, it will be Jon Burton taking on NWA
East Brass Knuckles Champ Ashton Amherst!
FEBRUARY 24th, 2008 DASH BENNETT CHOOSES HIS TAG
PARTNER AS... STACY HUNTER?!
Recently, we reported here at NWAEast.org that Dash Bennett had been
petitioning the NWA East Championship Committee to reinstate his
suspended tag team partner Devin Devine. Devine had been suspended
following repeated piledrivers injured NWA East wrestlers, as well
as NWA East official Shawn Patrick.
But his petition has apparently been denied. NWAEast.org has heard
through the grapevine that Bennett has grown so arrogant and
egotistical that he believes he can win the NWA East Tag Team
Championship with his manager, Stacy Hunter!
Not to discredit Hunter. She is a former NWA East Women's S.E.X.
Champion and is accomplished in the ring. But she has not seen
competition in NWA East rings in over a year. However, her first
round opponents would be Blue Dragon and Chris LeRusso, two men she
is very familiar with. Would this partnership be a boon to Bennett?
Or will Hunter hold him back from recapturing Tag Team gold?
In other words, what in the world is Dash Bennett thinking?!
At Valentine's Day Massacre, NWA East newcomer "The Steel City
Prodigy" Ryan Mitchell was merely inches away from defeating NWA
East Heavyweight Champion Scottie Gash. Mitchell nailed his patented
Steel Curtain DDT and had Gash down for the count. But, Gash's
seemingly estranged stablemates, Mantis and "Division 1" James Ross
hit the ring and attacked MItchell behind the referee's back,
allowing Gash to pin him and retain his title.
But as his title defenses against Gregory Iron ended in a DQ thanks
to those two men, Gash was unhappy with his partners interfering in
the match, as he has told everybody he wants to prove himself a
worthy champion. Once again, tension between the teammates was
thick.
Mitchell entered a request to the NWA East Championship Committee
and the Director of Authority Joe Dombrowski for a rematch at
February 28th's February Fury 2. The rematch was
uncharacteristically quickly accepted by "The Spotlight" and has
been signed! But what is going on within Team Gash? Rumor has it,
Gash put up his partners in the open spot against the Straight
Jacket Mafia in the NWA East Tag Team Title Tournament on February
28th, and Mantis & Ross are less than thrilled about the situation!
What will happen on February 28th when this volatile situation
explodes?!
February 14th saw the defeat of two teams and saw two other teams
take one step closer to realizing tag-team gold as the extremely
popular pairing of Chris Taylor and Jon Burton went down in defeat
due to outside help from Shirley Doe and the impressive debuting
team of The LA Gunz came up just a bit short in their quest to take
the NWA-East by surprise.
Meanwhile, The Franchise Players came up with a huge win to
advance to the semi-finals of the tag-team tourney. The Players look
better and better with each passing show and now await the winners
of the Straight Jacket Mafia v James Ross/The Mantis for a
semi-final matchup on march 14th with the winners getting the ticket
to the finals at Burgh Brawl 13.
February 14th also saw the team of Ashton Amherst and Patrick
Hayes advance to the semi-finals as James Ross was a successful
handpicked replacement for Amherst in the opening round match. The
former champions, who were stripped and the very reason for this
tourney, will now await a Friday, March 27th date with the winner of
the Chris LeRusso/Blue Dragon vs. Dash Bennett/?? opening round
match that will take place at the next live event. A final
destination of Burgh Brawl 13 is in the cards for one of these teams
as well as the road to tag-team gold ends there!!!
FEBRUARY 16th, 2008 SIGN UP FOR NWA EAST TRYOUTS ON
APRIL 11TH BEFORE BURGH BRAWL 13!
NWA East is looking for
professional wrestlers ready to step into an NWA ring! If you've
completed your pro wrestling training, and are looking for the
opportunity of a lifetime, check out the NWA East tryouts before Burgh
Brawl 13!
April 11th is the date for Burgh Brawl this year, and NWA East officials
will be holding tryouts at the Jacob Woll Pavilion in Renziehausen Park
in McKeesport, PA the afternoon before the Burgh Brawl live event that
night. For more information on the tryouts, please e-mail
NWAEast@comcast.net!
In previous years, the NWA East tryouts have discovered talent like
Spyral, who went on to become "BKNY" Brandon Kaplan in Ohio Valley
Wrestling, Sabotage, who won the NWA East Brass Knuckles Championship,
and Tyrone Evans, who is now Tyson Tarver in WWE's developmental
territory, Florida Championship Wrestling! Will you be the next star
discovered by NWA East?
Dash Bennett has gone public, literally, as he has started a
petition to the Championship Committee to reinstate Devin Devine
before Feb. 28th so that Awesome Force 5000 can be together in the
opening round match of the NWA-East Tag Tourney.
Dash's quest began last night after his destruction of former
bodyguard, ally, and occasional tag-team partner Bulldozer. The
writing has been on the wall in this one for months and the only
person that seemed to taken by surprise on the February 14th event
was Bulldozer himself.
What if Dash's demands and petition do not work? Who would he come
up with as a partner?
In the middle of the altercation between Chris Taylor and Shirley
Doe on Feb. 14th when the entire locker room cleared out to separate
these two men, Shirley Doe took it upon himself to go after
Championship Committee Spokesperson Joe Dombrowski.
As a result, Joe Dombrowski has declared that, while he will not
seek an active suspension of Doe, he has now chosen that he will
allow Chris Taylor to choose the stipulation for their upcoming
battle on February 28th. This puts Doe in an obvious disadvantage
against a man that he has yet to beat in two other matches.
Chris Taylor has already gone on record as saying that he will
allow the fans to choose the stipulation to the match through a
special fan vote on the NWA-East's Website!!!
Gregory Iron has informed the Championship
Committee that, despite not being to make the upcoming February 28th
event, that will indeed be back on March 14th and will be cashing in his
Three Rivers Title contract that he won in the 2009 Golden Ticket Battle
Royal! After learning that James Ross will, once again, take a show off
from defending his title, he has guaranteed that it will be Ross vs.
Iron on March 14th for the title!!
FEBRUARY 3rd, 2008 PITTSBURGH SPORTS ANCHOR ENTERS
TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT, PLUS FULL BRACKETS!
Pittsburgh Sports Anchor, wrestling fan, and a thorn in Ashton Amherst's
side, "JB" Jon Burton will be making his in-ring debut for NWA East on
March 14th! He has entered a team into the NWA East Tag Team Title
Tournament! Seven of the eight teams have been announced, and the
brackets have been released! Several established NWA East tandems have
been entered into the tournament, as well as two outsider teams, and two
brand new teams have been added to add some "flavor" and excitement to
the tournament!
On February 14th, former NWA East Tag Team Champions, the team who were
stripped of the belts, and feel they were never defeated for the titles,
Patrick Hayes & NWA East Brass Knuckles Champion Ashton Amherst will
take on the debuting sports anchor Jon Burton and his hand-picked tag
team partner, the longest reigning NWA East Heavyweight Champion Chris
Taylor! Burton could not have picked a better partner, a man familiar
with both Hayes & Amherst, and a young veteran in NWA East rings.
Also on February 14th, The Franchise Players of Jon Kronica & Robert
Beverly will be taking on Flea & Axel, the L.A. Gunz. The Gunz made
their NWA East debut during last April's Burgh Brawl 12 in impressive
fashion. Since then, NWA East officials have kept them in mind for such
an occasion as this. They will be taking on Kronica & Beverly, the
newest installment of the Franchise Players. Kronica held the NWA East
Tag Team Titles with his former partner, whose name does not deserve to
be listed on this website. He brings with him the young up and comer
Robert Beverly, who seems to fit in the Franchise Players like a glove,
matching Kronica with in-ring skill and brash arrogance.
February 28th sees the longest reigning NWA East Tag Team Champions The
Straight Jacket Mafia taking on a mystery team. There's no word as to
who "Syko" Sean Dahmer & Apollyon will be facing, but with the roll the
SJM are on lately, we do not envy the team entered into that slot.
The final opening round match sees several old rivals meeting in one
match-up. The new team of Chris LeRusso & Blue Dragon will face off
against the former Dash Bennett Mafia of Dash Bennett and Bulldozer.
Dash & Dozer are not on the same page recently, with Dash considering
their team a one-man show, calling Dozer the "only mistake he's ever
made"! Two of the most popular stars in NWA East team up as LeRusso &
Dragon make their first team appearance together. Can these former NWA
East Three Rivers Champions pool their talent together to capture the
Tag Team Titles?
One semi-final match will be held on March 14th, while the other will
take place March 28th. The finals will be at Burgh Brawl 13 on April
11th, and new champions will be crowned that night! Which of the eight
teams will it be?!
FEBRUARY 3rd, 2008 VALENTINE'S DAY MASSACRE 2 ON
FEBRUARY 14TH: CARD ANNOUNCED!
The NWA East Championship Committee along with their new Director of
Authority Joe Dombrowski have come together and signed several
blockbuster match-ups for February 14th's Valentine's Day Massacre 2!
The challenge was made on January 17th, and the match was signed several
days later. Former NWA East National Champion Crusher Hansen has a
rematch clause in his contract where he would get a shot at the man who
beat him for the title, NWA Anarchy's Phil Shatter. His longtime rival
and opponent on February 14th will be one-half of the NWA North American
Tag Team Champions "First Klass" Brandon K! On the line will be Hansen's
rematch against Shatter, and the other half of Brandon K's tag team
titles! The current holder, Sterling James Keenan, has given his partner
Brandon his blessing, and his half of the titles will be up for grabs!
If Brandon wins, he will earn a shot at Phil Shatter and the NWA
National Title. If Hansen wins, he will win one-half of the NWA North
American Tag Team Titles, and make himself Brandon K's new tag team
partner!
NWA East Heavyweight Champion "The Spotlight" Scottie Gash seems to be
ready to make his name as a respectful and fighting champion. After his
entourage of Mantis, Shirley Doe, and James Ross interfered on his
behalf against Gregory Iron, costing him the match by DQ, Gash was
enraged. On February 14th, he will be taking on a man who defeated Ross
in a singles match that same night, "The Steel City Prodigy" Ryan
Mitchell! Mitchell made quite a big impression on NWA East officials on
January 19th, and they feel after Ross avoided a Three Rivers title
defense at all costs, and Mitchell STILL won, he deserved a shot at the
Heavyweight gold. Can he capitalize on his opportunity?
Speaking of Ross and the Three Rivers Title, the Championship Committee
has chosen an opponent for him to defend the title against on February
14th, as ruled by DOA Dombrowski on January 19th. His opponent will be
former Three Rivers Champ "The Untouchable" Chris LeRusso! Ross has
taken to calling himself the "greatest Three Rivers Champion of all
time." His arrogance has gotten so big, he seemed to enrage his
stablemate, NWA East Heavyweight Champ "The Spotlight" Scottie Gash!
LeRusso had a strong showing against Crusher Hansen and Phil Shatter in
the NWA National Title Match on January 19th. That is, until Ross' other
stablemate, Mantis, interfered and caused LeRusso to be counted out!
This first time ever match between two top young lions is sure to be a
hard-fought battle!
In a rematch from January 19th's Genesis 2, Mantis will be taking on the
Golden Ticket Battle Royal winner Gregory Iron! Iron's hard life has
been well documented, from a troubled childhood, being born with
cerebral palsy, to many other setbacks. But on January 19th, his
inspirational story took a golden turn as he outlasted the NWA East
roster on his way to winning a shot at every active NWA East title, even
after being defeated by Mantis earlier in the evening thanks to
interference from James Ross. He immediately cashed in his Heavyweight
Title shot after the battle royal, coming within inches of the biggest
victory of his lifetime. But the victory became tainted. Ross, Mantis,
and Shirley Doe interfered, giving Iron just a DQ win. On February 14th,
he seeks revenge against Mantis!
Two NWA East Tag Team Title Tournament opening round matches will take
place on February 14th! Former champions, the team who were stripped of
the belts, and feel they were never defeated for the titles, Patrick
Hayes & NWA East Brass Knuckles Champion Ashton Amherst will take on the
debuting sports anchor Jon Burton and his hand-picked tag team partner,
the longest reigning NWA East Heavyweight Champion Chris Taylor! Burton
could not have picked a better partner, a man familiar with both Hayes &
Amherst, and a young veteran in NWA East rings.
FEBRUARY 3rd, 2008 CRUSHER HANSEN & BRANDON K TOP
WINNERS IN YEAR END AWARDS
The NWA East faithful have spoken, and the top vote getters in the 2008
Year End Awards have been announced! Former NWA National Heavyweight
Champion Crusher Hansen and his longtime rival "First Klass" Brandon K
topped the list this year, with each man winning three categories
each... two of which against each other!

JANUARY 13th, 2008 DEVINE SUSPENDED, BENNETT FORCED
TO CHOOSE REPLACEMENT FOR SATURDAY
"The King of Men" Devin Devine has been suspended indefinitely! After
his attack on NWA East Championship Committee member Shawn Patrick, the
Championship Committee has decided to suspend Devine indefinitely.
When we here at the NWA East website confronted Devine's Awesome Force
5000 teammate Dash Bennett about their title shot this Saturday, he had
this to say: "The hit to Awesome Force 5000 will obviously be felt for
years to come. This was supposed to be our shining moment, our first NWA
East Tag Team Title reign together. But instead, my phenomenal talents
will simply have to carry whoever I choose as a partner... even if it IS
the only mistake Dash Bennett has ever made: Bulldozer!"
JANUARY 13th, 2008 MITCHELL SPEAKS TO JAMES ROSS, NWA
EAST, AND NWA EAST FANS
"The Steel
City Prodigy" Ryan Mitchell sent a video to the NWA East offices this
week. In it, the star from Florida speaks on his opponent for Saturday,
"Division 1" James Ross, the NWA East Three Rivers Champion. Ross has
refused to defend his title against the debuting Mitchell, claiming he
doesn't have enough experience in the NWA to take on "the greatest Three
Rivers Champion of all time."
Here is Mitchell's response:
JANUARY 12th, 2008 HOT NEWS FROM AROUND NWA EAST
LEADING INTO GENESIS 2 THIS SATURDAY!
Patrick Hayes has broken his silence since being stripped of the NWA
East Tag Team Titles! He has ended his supposed boycott of NWA East
and its fans (who he claims has disrespected him time and time
again). He has informed the NWA East Championship Committee that he
will indeed be at the first NWA East live event in February
(February 14th's Valentine's Day Massacre). He also sent them a
statement claiming "On February 14th, myself, along with my partner
Ashton Amhurst, his bodyguard Big Dom, and our manager Krystal Frost
will reveal our future plans. We will show just how
backward-thinking the NWA East really is! We plan to pull back the
curtain and show everybody just how NWA East, the fans, the
Championship Committee, and everybody else involved in the company
love to live in the past and not cater to the younger generation
like they should! We will make NWA East wake up and FORCE them to
honor the REAL talent in this promotion instead of the old, washed
up, has-beens that are always being 'honored' here!" Obviously,
disrespect like this in NWA East will not be tolerated. What will
happen when Hayes breaks his boycott and returns to NWA East with
his entourage on February 14th?
After December 13th, NWA East was deep in controversy. Brandon K had
pinned the NWA National Heavyweight Champion Crusher Hansen in a
match where Hansen agreed to put the title on the line. Brandon even
took the title belt home with him. But after Hansen and his manager
Benjamin C. Steele petitioned the NWA Board of Directors and
president Robert K. Trobich, it was determined that Brandon was not
an eligible contender for the title, the match and title change were
not sanctioned by the NWA, and the title was to be returned to
Hansen and the title switch struck from the record. Brandon K
returned the title to Hansen via FedEx. However, Hansen and Steele
are not satisfied. The NWA East Championship Committee recieved
another statement, this time from Steele on behalf of Crusher
Hansen. In it, Steele stated that Hansen was not satisfied, and
still felt disrespected by Brandon K that he could not give him back
the title in person, feeling that it was "cheaper" that he sent the
belt via FedEx, and that he was cheated out of his title at
Christmas Chaos 2. Hansen has demanded that Brandon K show up first
thing at the Jacob Woll Pavilion at Renzie Park in McKeesport, PA
and offer Hansen a "public apology" for the disrespect he has shown
to the NWA National Heavyweight Champion. Will Brandon K respond to
this challenge of sorts? How will this effect their future title
match?
Finally, we here at NWA East are pleased to announce that NWA East
officials have re-signed with the premiere DVD video production
company in the region! NWA East and Digital Horizons once again
struck a deal to tape the NWA East live events and produce NWA East
DVDs. Digital Horizons produces top notch video quality and is
currently the company the NWA East works with in regards to the
video screen used during live shows and the live interviews done in
the locker room, aired live to the fans. NWA East hopes that the
quality and professionalism that comes with Digital Horizons proves
to be the first step of many steps forward in 2009!

DECEMBER 31st, 2008 TAG TITLES STRIPPED FROM THE
CHAMPIONS, 1/17 CARD ANNOUNCED
NWA East Tag Team Champion
Patrick Hayes has refused to defend his title at January 17th's Genesis
2 in the three-way dance, and even refuses to show up. As a result, the
NWA East Championship Committee and member Vince Kaplack have decided
that Hayes & Amhurst will be STRIPPED of the titles, effective
immediately! Krystal Frost was reached for comment, but the only thing
she would say was that they were a team, and whatever one says, the
other goes along with.
Instead, the NWA East Tag Team Titles will be decided in a three-way
dance between Awesome Force 5000 of Dash Bennett & Devin Devine, the
Straight Jacket Mafia of Syko Sean Dahmer & Apollyon, and the new
Franchise Players of Jon Kronica & Robert Beverly! Bennett is a
multi-time Tag Team Champion during his days with the Premiere Players
and Daron Smythe, and Devine is a former multi-time NWA East Heavyweight
Champion. The SJM are on a tear through NWA East, recently destroying
the Rare Breed, and they still hold claim to the longest NWA East Tag
Team Championship title reign. However, that reign was ended by none
other than the Franchise Players' Jon Kronica. What will happen when
these three teams meet on January 17th?
Since Amhurst is now left without a tag team title, or partner on this
event, Krystal Frost has somehow managed to get him an NWA East Brass
Knuckles Title shot against champion Chris Taylor. With Taylor in what
seems to be the beginnings of a major feud with Shirley Doe, this is a
match sure to keep your eye on.
Speaking of Doe, the Madman from Dixmont will be faced with one-half of
the NWA North American Tag Team Champions "First Klass" Brandon K! These
two men have not met in the squared circle in over 8 years! With K
almost guaranteed a title shot at NWA National Champion Crusher Hansen,
he can not afford to lose a match against Doe, in Doe's first "official"
match in NWA East after being forced to sign a contract!
The NWA National Title will be on the line on January 17th! With Brandon
K breathing down his neck, Crusher Hansen will defend the title against
"The Untouchable" Chris LeRusso. This isn't LeRusso's first shot at the
National Title, or at Crusher Hansen. LeRusso came within inches of
defeating former champion Pepper Parks, and even challenged Hansen the
night Hansen won the title! Will he be able to finally capture that
brass ring? Or will Hansen retain and reluctantly move on to his defense
with K?
The NWA East Heavyweight Champion "The Spotlight" Scottie Gash will be
defending his title on January 17th. The challenger will be former NWA
East Three Rivers Champion Blue Dragon! Dragon is a former associate of
Gash's running buddy, "Mantis" Bobby Williams. It will be very
interesting to see how the situation plays out!
Mantis will have a busy night as he will be taking on the red hot
Gregory Iron! Iron has a grudge against Mantis for how things went down
at Chistmas Chaos 2 during his Three Rivers Title match against James
Ross. Will Iron get his revenge?
Speaking of the Three Rivers Champ... James Ross has been signed to
defend his title against Florida wrestling stand-out Ryan Mitchell on
January 17th. But, Ross is refusing to defend the title, claiming that a
man who has never stepped foot in an NWA East ring should not get a shot
at "the greatest Three Rivers Champion in NWA East history." Will the
championship committee agree? Or will Mitchell get a shot at the gold
his first time out?
All this, plus the Golden Ticket Battle Royal! The winner will receive
one shot at every NWA East championship throughout the 2009 calendar
year, anytime. James Ross capitalized on his opportunity last year and
won the NWA East Three Rivers Championship. Will somebody be as lucky
this year?
January 17th's Genesis 2 in
McKeesport, PA will mark the NWA East debut of Ryan Mitchell. Mitchell
has recently been signed to NWA East by Championship Committee member
Vince Kaplack thanks to videotapes sent to NWA East by Mitchell.
Mitchell is an alumnus
of WWE's Florida territory where he recently feuded with WWE's Manu. He has
also recently appeared in Japan for All Japan Pro Wrestling, as well as
numerous promotions throughout the southern territory. Mitchell stands
6'3" tall and weighs in at 218 lbs, but he carries the quickness and
agility of a man half his size. Ryan has sent the following statement to
NWA East's web staff: "I'm very excited for my NWA debut on January 17th
for NWA East. I'm going to make an immediate impact, and I'm putting all
NWA and NWA East champions on notice: I'm coming here for gold!"
On December
13th, 2008, NWA East fans in attendance at Christmas Chaos 2 witnessed
the first ever "Christmas Chaos" match, in which all participants were
active champions in NWA East, and all titles were up for grabs. The
result of that match saw "First Klass" Brandon K defeat NWA National
Heavyweight Champion Crusher Hansen for the title. For months, Hansen
has been ducking and avoiding K ever since he was pinned and forced to
tap out back in September at the NWA East 14th Anniversary Show.
After K's win, Crusher Hansen took the video evidence from Dynamite
Video Entertainment and sent it to NWA President Robert Trobich. Trobich
and the NWA Board of Directors reviewed the footage. Taking into
consideration the fact that Brandon K used the NWA National Title belt
to win, and the fact that they ruled earlier that K was not the
officially sanctioned challenger to the NWA National Title, they have
taken the title from Brandon K and given it back to Crusher Hansen.
However, actions speak louder than words. Thanks to K pinning Hansen
twice, and making him tap out on two seperate occasions, the NWA has
named Brandon K a top contender for the title, ensuring him a future
title shot, no matter what Crusher Hansen says!
Hansen will defend his title this weekend against NWA Anarchy's Phil
Shatter in Niles, OH, only an hour outside of NWA East's territory.
DECEMBER 2nd, 2008 IT ALL COMES TO A HEAD BETWEEN
GASH & NWA EAST ON DECEMBER 13TH!
This is it! The Best Of 3 Series has come down to this one last
match as everything is tied at 1 a piece. What is riding on this
final match? Everything! If Scottie Gash, Shirley Doe, Bobby
"Mantis" Williams, and James Ross are able to win the best of 3
series, then they are able to take whatever titles they possess with
them no questions asked and thus end those titles' existence in the
NWA-East. Plus, NWA-East owner Jim Miller will be forced to retire
from professional wrestling, something many men have tried to do
over the last nearly decade and a half!
If Jim Miller and his handpicked team of Brandon K, Chris Taylor
and now Sterling James Keenan can get the win in this final match,
then Gash and company will be forced to sign new non-compete clauses
and remain exactly here they do not want to be and under the control
of the very people they despise.
Sterling and Gash are certainly no strangers to one another in the
ring as they have feuded over the NWA-East Heavyweight Title for the
past 9 months with each man taking the title off of the other. This
time all the stops are sure to be pulled out with the stakes so
high.
DECEMBER 2nd, 2008 HANSEN AVOIDS NATIONAL
TITLE MATCH WITH BRANDON K AGAIN?!
At last sight in the Jacob Woll Pavilion on November 15th, Crusher
Hansen was seen tapping out to Brandon K's dangerous ankle lock
submission with NWA-East Championship Committee member Shawn Patrick
in Hansen's face taunting him to tap out.
Patrick made the rematch from the 14th Anniversary Show that
every fan in the NWA-East has been asking to see: Brandon K v
Crusher Hansen for the NWA National Title!! Hansen has just
successfully defended his title in Ohio against the man that was
injured as National Champion and never lost the title by a loss in
Chance Prophet. This gives Hansen a ton of momentum heading into
Christmas Chaos, but he does not appear to be satisfied with that as
he has once again made another ridiculous demand on who he wishes to
face for the title that night. Hansen has been attempting to make
matches against former NWA-East wrestlers not seen in years
(Superstar 2000 and Kid Ego) and has not stated that he is
challenging a former NWA-East Tag-Team Champion to a title match
rather than defend against Brandon K. Hansen has challenged "The
Orange Dynamo" Shawn Patrick himself to a match for the NWA National
Title and reasons that this time he has indeed challenged a former
champion and thus this match should be made as Patrick's making of a
match against K was done on his own agenda.
Will K get the match that was ordered or will Hansen actually be
able to sneak out of this one too?
DECEMBER 2nd, 2008 ROSS & DOE FACE CHALLENGES
FROM NWA EAST STARS IRON & TAYLOR
The Three Rivers Title is on the line in this one as ordered by the
Championship Committee. Gregory Irons may have sealed himself up a
spot as a top singles contender with a dominant showing in the 4-way
dance for the Three Rivers Title at the last event after he pinned
both members of The Straight Jacket Mafia and was well on his way to
pinning and taking the title away from the obnoxious Ross if it
wasn't for the help of Ross' comrades.
Ross will look to walk out of the NWA-East as champion and take
that title with him and will no doubt have the full backing of his
buddies.
Irons looks to be red hit right now and has been given the task of
knocking Ross down a few pegs and make sure the Three Rivers Title
stays in the NWA-East one way or another.
Word has it that the Championship Committee has given Irons an
early Christmas present as they will be making an announcement in
regards to this match that evens things out for Irons against Ross! = = = = = = = = = =
Chris Taylor was able to pull out a hard fought victory to even out
the huge best of 3 series at 1 each with a pinfall over Shirley Doe.
Doe had made the egotistical statement that he did not need any help
in showing how inferior NWA-East competition is compared to '10
minutes up the road' and was forced to eat his words after Taylor
came in and wrestled Doe in his own style of match and took the win.
This clearly did not set well with the evil twisted mind of Doe as
he now has signed on to face Taylor yet again, this time for
Taylor's Brass Knuckles Title. Doe seems to feel that he can make up
for his big loss by taking the title away from Taylor and the
NWA-East after Scottie Gash wins the final match in the best of 3
series.
Chris Taylor has never been one to back down from any fight or
challenge and has accepted Doe's demand for his title and has stated
that he will once again take another win from the overconfident Doe
and show everyone of the skeptics in the area that NWA-East talent
is every bit as good, if not better, than any other promotion's
talent. The longest reigning heavyweight champion has proven some of
the old guard within the NWA-East totally wrong before, so why not
even more people now?

HANSEN TRIES TO AVOID
MATCH, PLUS MORE ANNOUNCED FOR DO OR DIE 2!
NWA East
officials have released more information on November 15th's Do or Die 2
live event!
As announced earlier, it really will be Do or Die for NWA East when
Shirley Doe takes on Chris Taylor in the second of the Best of 3 series
between Team Gash and Team NWA East. If Doe wins this match, Jim Miller
must retire from professional wrestling and Scottie Gash & James Ross
can take their NWA East Heavyweight & Three Rivers Titles "10 minutes up
the road" with them to sign their contracts on. But if Chris Taylor
wins, the series goes to three matches, and Gash will take on Sterling
James Keenan on December 13th! If Taylor & SJK win their matches, then
Gash, Ross, Doe, and Mantis will be forced to sign new NWA East
contracts with non-compete clauses, forcing them to compete in NWA East!
Speaking of forcing them to compete, "The Spotlight" Scottie Gash will
be defending his NWA East Heavyweight Title against his cohort "Mantis"
Bobby Williams. At Dead Calm 2, Mantis revealed himself to be Williams
the whole time, the mastermind behind the Gash/Ross plan to leave NWA
East, and laid down, allowing Gash to pin him to "defend" his title. As
Gash announced he would defend the title against Mantis again on
November 15th, a second Mantis hit the ring and attacked the quartet
before revealing himself to actually be Brandon K! K grabbed the mic and
informed them he would be keeping an eye on the match, and if the same
thing happens this time, he will try anything in his power to get
involved! Will Brandon be forced to get involved in the title match?
Apparently, NWA National Heavyweight Champion Crusher Hansen has gone to
new lengths to avoid defending his title against a legitimate contender.
After attempting to fake an injury to get out of a title defense against
Brandon K, Hansen claimed he signed a contract to take on a former NWA
East star who hasn't been seen 8 and a half years, Superstar 2000!
Instead, he was facing Bobby Shields. Once again, Hansen has called out
a former NWA East star who hasn't competed since a car crash ended his
in-ring career in 2002... "Kid Ego" Todd Thompson. Thompson, like
Superstar 2000, was infamous for his terrible win/loss record. Thompson
wrestled for NWA East between 1997 and 2002, the entire time going
nearly winless! NWA and NWA East officials will more than likely not
sanction a title match against Kid Ego, but will Crusher have an
opponent by the time Do or Die 2 rolls around?
Just signed is a five-way elimination match for the NWA East Three
Rivers Title! NWA East Three Rivers Champion "Divison 1" James Ross is
being forced by NWA East officials to defend the title, due to the fact
that he and Scottie Gash have shown no regard for upholding their word
to defend their titles with honor while they're still in NWA East during
the Best of 3 Series. Because of this, Ross will have four challengers
for the title on November 15th: Gregory Iron, Matthew Justice, Sean
Dahmer, & Apollyon! The Straight Jacket Mafia & Gregory Iron won an
8-man tag at Dead Calm 2, and have been rewarded with a Three Rivers
Title shot! Since Matthew Justice was supposed to be on their team, he
has been added to the match as well! The deck has been stacked against
Ross, as he is basically being forced to defend the title against two
top tag teams in NWA East... in an ELIMINATION match!
"First Klass" Brandon K and Sterling James Keenan won the NWA North
American Tag Team Titles back in September from the incumbent champs,
the Wrong Crowd. Since then, they have been trying to focus between
their singles careers and tag team careers. They defended the titles
against Scottie Gash & Shirley Doe, while SJK lost the NWA East
Heavyweight Title to Gash and K attempted to win the NWA National Title
from Crusher Hansen. But now, the duo has received a challenge from NWA
East Tag Team Champions Patrick Hayes & Ashton Amhurst! Before
they can get their title match, though, K has offered a match to Patrick
Hayes. If Hayes can defeat K in a singles match, Hayes & Amhurst will
get a title shot on December 13th at Christmas Chaos 2! Will Hayes be
able to pick up the big win for his team?
In a special tag team challenge match, the French Ticklers of Lord
Zoltan & Nasty Nick Crane return to NWA East to battle with the newly
formed team of Dash Bennett & Devin Devine! The Pittsburgh veterans
Zoltan & Crane are back after being taken out by the NWA East Tag Team
Champs Hayes & Amhurst. Meanwhile, Devin & Dash are teaming up for the

GASH AND NWA EAST
AGREE: WRESTLER NOT WELCOME
Both Scottie
Gash and the NWA-East have agreed on something at last!! Both parties
have agreed that they wish to have nothing to do with the wrestler that
has indicated he would like to leave his current home and head "10
minutes down the road" as it is not true that he will be appreciated
here.

ZOLTAN INJURED BY TAG
TEAM CHAMPIONS HAYES & AMHURST
After their
baseball bat attack on the Pittsburgh veteran, Lord Zoltan has suffered
two cracked ribs at the hands of the NWA East Tag Team Champions Patrick
Hayes & Ashton Amhurst. Zoltan's status for the Saturday, November 1st
Dead Calm 2 live event is very much in doubt. It appears that the
champions wanted to make sure that the team of the French Ticklers (Zoltan
& "Nasty" Nick Crane) were not in any condition to challenge for the
titles anytime soon.

IS THERE ANOTHER
TRAITOR IN THE NWA EAST LOCKER ROOM?
Is Scottie
Gash looking to add yet another person to his fight to get Jim Miller
retired from professional wrestling for good as per the agreement made
for a 'Best Of 3 Series' with the very high stakes? Rumors have been
circulating that Shirley Doe has contacted some of his friends recently
and lobbied for more help to be sent his way to the NWA-East for at
least the next two live events. In addition, Scottie Gash has declared
that he has a major announcement concerning a current NWA-East roster
member and it's effects on his suddenly very secretive Heavyweight Title
defense for this upcoming live event. Dont forget that Gash and James
Ross both agreed to defend their titles under NWA-East sanctions until
the Best Of 3 Series has been determined.
One thing is for sure here, it will not be the wrestler who wants to
come 10 minutes down the road as he has already been turned down by both
the NWA-East and Gash/Doe.

HANSEN REFUSES
BRANDON K A NATIONAL TITLE REMATCH
Current NWA
National Champion Crusher Hansen has turned down the latest challenge
from current 1/2 of the NWA North American Tag-team Champion Brandon K.
K asked for one more title shot, but was turned down immediately by
Hansen as Hansen has stated that K had his chances and blew it, so now
Hansen will turn his attention to better competition.
K has stated that this is just a ploy for Hansen to get of defending
against him because Hansen knows that K is the better man. This could
actually be true since Hansen made an attempt to give Superstar 2000 a
title shot for this upcoming live event. For anyone who does remember
Superstar 2000, he has not been seen in the NWA-East, let alone a
wrestling ring for over 9 years now and even when he did wrestle here,
his won-lost record was one of the worst in the promotion's history. The
NWA-East Championship Committee quickly put a halt to Hansen's charade
and has stated that Hansen's opponent for Saturday, November 1st will be
named shortly.
OCTOBER 18th, 2008
NWA EAST PRESIDENT
JIM MILLER WILL RETURN AT DEAD CALM 2
NWA-East owner
Jim Miller is currently recovering from his attack by Scottie Gash,
Shirley Doe, Bobby Williams, and his own son James Ross. Miller was beat
down mercilessly by his son as Gash and Doe held him. The entire locker
room cleared, rulebreakers and fan favorites both. Miller has indicated
that he will be back at the next live event as this current situation
will not deter him. As it turns out, this could be Miller's last two
shows in professional wrestling period as his very life in the business
rests in the hands of his three chosen representatives in the upcoming
"Best Of 3 Series': Brandon K, Sterling James Keenan, and Chris Taylor.
OCTOBER 2ND, 2008
MATCHES FOR 10/10 &
THE FRANCHISE PLAYERS TARGET... LORD ZOLTAN?!
The matches
are set and NWA East prepares itself for Desperate Measures 2!
Sterling James Keenan lost the NWA East Heavyweight Title on September
20th, and the title eventually went to Scottie Gash after chicanary
involving his new entourage of James Ross, Shirley Doe, and referee
Bobby Williams. After the match, NWA East Championship Committee members
Shawn Patrick & Vince Kaplack, along with Big Poppa Gator & Chris
Taylor, were able to procure the heavyweight title, as well as the NWA
East Three Rivers Title (held by Ross) back from the group before they
took them "10 minutes up the road" to their new employers. Gash and his
gang have declared that they will be returning to NWA East on October
11th to get their belts back, just so they can sign their contracts for
their new employers on them. The NWA East will not stand for this act of
disrespect, but will Gash be able to do just as he has claimed he will
since May? Or will NWA East's troops be ready and waiting for these
rogue athletes who don't even work here anymore?!
With Gash claiming he will be at Renzie Park on October 11th, former
champion Sterling James Keenan has challenged Gash, despite the fact
that Gash does not have a working contract with NWA East. Will Gash "man
up" and defend the title against SJK once again? Can the "Iron City
Superstar" bring the gold back home?
"Division 1" James Ross is scheduled to defend the NWA East Three Rivers
Title against the former champion Bobby Shields and the man who helped
him win the title, who he subsequently turned on, Mantis. Shields has
invoked his rematch clause, and has been granted a rematch for the Three
Rivers Title by the Championship Committee. If Mantis were to get the
win and the title, it would be the ultimate revenge on Ross after Ross
turned on him on September 20th at the 14th Anniversary Show. Ross is
supposed to be in attendance at Renzie Park on October 11th along with
Gash, Doe, and Williams. Therefore, the Championship Committee has
declared that if Ross refuses to defend the title, he will be stripped
of the belt immediately and the title will be put up for grabs in a
match featuring both challengers, Shields & Mantis!
As has been previously announced, "Big Time" Vince Kaplack and the "One
Man Party" Big Poppa Gator will be inducted into the NWA East Circle of
Respect, our own local version of a hall of fame. Both men were very
instrumental in helping build NWA East during its formative years and
will thusly be honored for their accomplishments. This begins a yearly
tradition in NWA East, where an inductee will be announced at the
Anniversary Show, and inducted into the Circle of Respect at the
following live event.
At the September 20th NWA East 14th Anniversary Show, NWA North American
Tag Team Champion Brandon K took NWA National Heavyweight Champion
Crusher Hansen to his limit. Not only did he pin the champion, he also
made him tap out. Sadly, due to a clause invoked by Hansen, the tap out
was a mere half-second past the time limit, and Brandon did not win the
title. After the NWA East Championship Committee heard so much positive
feedback about the match, they have ordered a rematch for Desperate
Measures 2 on October 11th! Brandon K did indeed get a pinfall on the
NWA National Champion... will he be able to duplicate his success?
Devin Devine returned to NWA East on September 20th, only to show he is
still the same old Devin Devine we all grew to hate during his reign of
terror in NWA East. After LeRusso picked up a win over Devine, the
self-proclaimed "King of Men" laid LeRusso out with a piledriver. On
October 11th, he will be pitted against the "King of Monsters" Blue
Dragon! Blue Dragon now owns the services of none other than Devine's
former bodyguard, Stacy Hunter, thanks to an impressive victory over
Bulldozer in under 2 minutes. Much to the dismay of the Dash Bennett
Mafia, Hunter now must do everything Blue Dragon instructs her to do!
Former adversaries Chris LeRusso will take on Dash Bennett in a battle
of former Three Rivers Champions! Both men are looking to get back into
the Three Rivers Title hunt again. Bennett holds the distinction of
being the shortest-reigning NWA East Three Rivers Champion of all time,
losing the title to James Ross just seconds after winning it from Bobby
Shields, thanks to Ross cashing in his Golden Ticket, and help from the
man whose identity Dash bought, Mantis.
As previously announced, the NWA East Tag Team Champions of Ashton
Amhurst & Patrick Hayes with their bodyguard Big Dom and manager Krystal
Frost will defend their titles against the former champions of Matthew
Justice & Gregory Iron, collectively known as Iron Justice. Hayes &
Amhurst were able to pull off a quick one at the 14th Anniversary Show
as they survived the 8-Man Tag Team Madness Match (which their partners
scored the pinfall in), then by using the title belts as a weapon to
score the win. Iron Justice looked as though they had the match and the
titles all but won, but their dreams were cut short and robbed from
them. This time, they get another shot, and they'll be fresh! But never
count out the champions, as they seem to have proven time and time again
that they will sink to any depth to get the victory!
The Straight Jacket Mafia collides as "Syko" Sean Dahmer meets his tag
team partner Apollyon in a singles contest! The longest reining NWA East
Tag Team Champions have had several issues over the last few months, and
their tensions all come to a head on October 10th. Will this match help
them beat their frustrations out of each other and get them back on
track... or will it just make their problems worse?
The new Franchise Players of Jon Kronica & Robert Beverly have sent a
message to the NWA East Championship Committee that, despite the fact
that they were unsuccessful in their attempt to win the NWA East Tag
Team Titles at the 14th Anniversary Show (thusly losing their chance to
re-sign with the promotion), they will return to the Jacob Woll Pavilion
on October 10th. This time, they claim they will deliver another message
at the expense of the most experienced veteran in the locker room. But
the question remains: Do the Franchise Players realize who the most
experienced veteran in the locker room is? That man is none other than
the most out-of-control wrestler ever in the Pittsburgh area, LORD
ZOLTAN! What have Kronica & Beverly gotten themselves into?!
Tickets to NWA East's return to the Jacob Woll Pavilion at Renzie Park
in McKeesport are available now by e-mailing

SCOTTIE GASH IS THE
NWA EAST HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION... AGAIN!
It all came to a head on September 20th, 2008.
"The Spotlight" Scottie Gash was fed up after losing the NWA East
Heavyweight Title to Sterling James Keenan. Gash had been pushed out of
the Heavyweight Title scene after his loss, and was frustrated by the
fact that he had no belt, no chances at any belts, and felt overlooked
by the NWA. Gash did the unthinkable: he had accepted an offer from a
promotion 10 minutes up the road from NWA East. As Gash was prepared to
debut for this other promotion, however, he was contacted by the NWA
East Championship Committee, who found a no-compete clause in Gash's
contract. Even if he had abandonded his NWA East contract, he would
legally be unable to compete for any other organization until his NWA
East contract was up at midnight on September 20th, 2008.
It was at that point, something snapped in the former NWA East
Heavyweight Champion. He had reached the point of personal frustration
that he began taking it out on NWA East. He made a vow to create as much
havoc and chaos on NWA East before he left. Not only did Gash buy his
own space here on the NWA East website, but he added a countdown to the
day he was "free", a checklist of what he intended to do in NWA East
before he left, and his own personal messages to friends. Gash's
checklist included bringing the biggest troublemaker in Pennsylvania to
NWA East, and he did just that on May 24th, 2008 when he brought Kato in
as his tag team partner. Also on his checklist was to create chaos
during a live NWA East showcase, and he and Kato were able do just that
the night of May 24th as the NWA East locker room emptied in a chaotic
brawl.
On Gash's checklist, he gave his intentions to showcase himself to his
future employers by facing a competitor who used to wrestle for them. On
June 6th, he defeated "Superbad" Carlton Kaz, all the while referencing
his future employers. His checklist showed he wanted to create
dissension between a group of NWA East fan favorites, and he did just
that to begin the June 6th event. Iron Justice, Mantis, Straight Jacket
Mafia, James Ross, Chris LeRusso, and Chris Taylor were all pinpointed
by Gash as being possible traitors to NWA East's locker room, having
signed a deal to jump with Gash. But, Gash would not reveal who was
leaving with him until the night his contract was up. Month to month,
show to show, Gash took out each and every wrestler. Bringing an unnamed
lackey with him each time, Gash would scratch each name off his list.
First it was LeRusso, whose arm Gash broke using a steel chair (another
check off Gash's list). Then Iron Justice, Chris Taylor, Sean Dahmer,
Apollyon... until just James Ross and Mantis remained. Then, on
September 20th, James Ross won the NWA East Three Rivers Title with the
help of Mantis, only to attack Mantis afterwards, revealing his alliance
with Gash. Gash was able to convince James Ross, NWA East President Jim
Miller's own son, to leave the promotion with him.
At the end of the night, Scottie Gash was ready to take on Chris Taylor
and the NWA East Heavyweight Champion Sterling James Keenan for the
title. Gash and Taylor were able to eliminate SJK together, guaranteeing
a new champion. Taylor risked life and limb to try and recapture the NWA
East Heavyweight Title from Gash. An incredible dive off the top to the
floor and a super Taylor Cutter capped off a string of moves Gash was
unable to get up from. But at that moment, referee Bobby Williams
stopped counting. He unzipped his referee shirt, revealing a "Spotlight"
Scottie Gash t-shirt underneath! Williams pulled out his referee
license, which included the logo of the company 10 minutes up the road
that Gash & James Ross were leaving for! Shawn Patrick chased Williams
out the front door as he brought out referee Tom Dunn to finish the
match. But James Ross came through the front door to distract Dunn as
SHIRLEY DOE hit the ring from behind and laid out Taylor with a street
sign! Gash pinned Taylor to win the title!
Gash, his unnamed lackey who's been entering the Jacob Woll Pavilion
with him, Shirley Doe, James Ross, and Bobby Williams celebrated their
victory in the ring. Shawn Patrick and Chris Taylor vowed to fight them
to the end, but Gash questioned NWA East's numbers against them. This
brought out "Big Time" Vince Kaplack and Big Poppa Gator to back them
up! All four men hit the ring, and even Shawn Patrick got his licks on
Shirley Doe and Scottie Gash! In the confusion, Patrick was able to get
his hands on the Heavyweight & Three Rivers Title belts and refused to
give them to the rogue group, led by Gash! Gash promised they'd be back
to get their belts at the next showcase, on October 10th! But the fact
remains: Gash & Ross hold NWA East's top two title belts, and are on
their way out of the company.
SEPTEMBER 24, 2008
KAPLACK & GATOR TO BE
INDUCTED INTO THE CIRCLE OF RESPECT ON 10/10!
The NWA East Circle of Respect is considered
to be the highest honor and accolade for NWA East's elite. The best and
brightest in NWA East history have been honored with inductions into our
version of the hall of fame, including NWA East Owner and President
James W. Miller, former NWA North American Champion Quinn Magnum, NWA
National Heavyweight Champion Crusher Hansen, longtime NWA East referee
and current Championship Committee member Shawn Patrick, the late, great
Sean "Shocker" Evans, and former NWA North American and North American
Tag Team Champion Paul Atlas have all been honored with inductions into
our Circle of Respect. On October 10th, 2008, two more men will be
inducted.
Big Poppa Gator and "Big Time" Vince Kaplack were stars in NWA East
during the always-important formative years of the company. Kaplack was
a key member of the Dogg Pound with Bubba the Bulldog, the giant
Leviathon, and the late Sean "Shocker" Evans. Kaplack & Evans became the
company's first-ever tag team champions on February 17th, 1996, but lost
them that day to Wrong Crowd members Paul Atlas & Brian Anthony. Vince
went on to capture the titles twice more in his career, once with Rock N
Roll Express member Robert Gibson, and another time with his Kaplack
cousin, "First Klass" Brandon K. But in May 1996, Kaplack was able to
start off a big singles career, capturing his first NWA East Heavyweight
Championship. He would eventually win the title twice more in 2000
before retiring from active competition and stepping away from the
wrestling business until his return last year during the AWC vs. PWX
war, helping PWX recapture the NWA East brand and becoming a new member
of the NWA East Championship Committee!
Gator began his NWA East career as a backwoods hillbilly with his
partner, Country Boy Chris. After a vacation to Las Vegas, he
transformed into the "One Man Party", Big Poppa Gator. But probably his
most remembered era was the team with Boomer Payne & JB Destiny known
only as 987. 987's war with Rage drew 500+ fans into Eastland Mall at
the Wrestleplex for a now-infamous 3-on-3 weapons match that tore the
Wrestleplex apart! A tag team specialist, Gator has held the NWA East
Tag Team Titles on five different occasions with four different
partners: Col. Boomer Payne, JB Destiny, Country Boy Chris, and the
short-lived team of the Mon Valley Monsters with Cory K. It was after
his title reign with Cory that he felt the need to step away from
professional wrestling. Gator has been featured in movies, most notably
as a bouncer in the George Romero film, Bruiser. Gator has now returned
to NWA East, helping the fight against "The Spotlight" Scottie Gash's
attempt to take the NWA East Heavyweight Championship, once held by Big
Poppa, 10 minutes up the road.
On October 10th at Desperate Measures 2, Vince Kaplack & Big Poppa Gator
will be inducted into the NWA East Circle of Respect. Join us as we
honor two of NWA East's most popular and heralded competitors, whose
legacies and contributions have not faded over time.
SEPTEMBER 24, 2008
HAYES & AMHURST
DEFEND THE TAG TITLES AND MORE ON OCTOBER 10TH!
Iron Justice very nearly became 2-time NWA
East Tag Team Champions on September 20th. The first-ever Tag Team
Madness Match at the 14th Anniversary Show featured one fan favorite
team and one rulebreaking team joining up in an 8-man tag. The winning
team would then immediately wrestle each other for the NWA East Tag Team
Championships. Thanks to dissention between the Straight Jacket Mafia,
Iron Justice were able to pick up the win, and face their partners, NWA
East Tag Team Champions Patrick Hayes & Ashton Amhurst. With Hayes
isolated, the duo attempted to take out Hayes with several incredible
double-team maneuvers. But as they went for a double team inverted
atomic drop hold/dropkick combo, Amhurst pulled Gregory Iron out of the
ring, leaving Matthew Justice to be taken out by the champs, giving them
the win. The NWA East Championship Committee were impressed with how
close they became to winning the titles, and the fact that they picked
up the pinfall in the 8-man tag, and decided to immediately sign a
rematch for the October 10th showcase, Desperate Measures 2. Will a
fresh Iron Justice team be able to pick up their second title reign?
Speaking of the dissention in the Straight Jacket Mafia, "Syko" Sean
Dahmer seems to have reached his limit. As they won their second NWA
East Tag Team Championship, it all came to a front. Both men were still
on Scottie Gash's list of who might leave NWA East with him, and were
challenging Iron Justice for the titles. Gash hit the ring and helped
Apollyon pick up the victory and the title... much to the dismay of Sean
Dahmer. Although happy they were champions once again, he questioned his
partner's loyalties, only to be attacked by Gash behind Apollyon's back.
The next showcase, on September 6th, Gash attacked Apollyon with a
street sign while Dahmer was distracted on the floor, costing both men
the titles to Patrick Hayes & Ashton Amhurst. Gash was pleased with
himself, as Apollyon thought Dahmer attacked him with the sign. Both men
left alone that night, and were obviously not on the same page, the same
chapter, or even in the same book. They attempted to put aside their
differences in the 8-man Tag Team Madness Match, but their
miscommunications led them to losing the match. During intermission,
Dahmer challenged Apollyon to a one-on-one contest on October 10th. Will
this help the Straight Jacket Mafia work out their differences? Or will
it just drive the wedge further through their partnership, which led
them to hold the NWA East Tag Team Championship longer than any other
team in company history?
NWA East traitors "The Spotlight" Scottie Gash and "Division 1" James
Ross were able to capture the two biggest singles titles in NWA East:
the Heavyweight and Three Rivers titles. But at the end of the night,
Championship Committee member Shawn Patrick called in the troops, and
while Chris Taylor, Big Poppa Gator, & Vince Kaplack kept them occupied,
Patrick was able to snatch the belts back, leaving Gash & Ross unable to
leave the company with them. Gash & Ross have promised to return to NWA
East on October 10th to get their belts back. Will they have their
running buddies Shirley Doe & traitorous referee Bobby Williams with
them? Will war erupt in the Jacob Woll Pavilion in Renzie Park?!
Plus, join us as we induct Vince Kaplack & Big Poppa Gator into the NWA
East Circle of Respect!
SEPTEMBER 24, 2008
FAREWELL TO THE
"DREAM LOVER" KID CUPID!
At NWA East's 14th
Anniversary Show, Kid Cupid lost a 3-on-1 handicapped match to managers
Benjamin C. Steele, Krystal Frost, & Stacy Hunter. Much to the dismay of
the fans, Cupid must now leave NWA East. Since his debut in the
Pittsburgh Wrestling League in 1999, he was never a "5-star" competitor,
and he's probably the oddest man to come through NWA East. But Kid Cupid
is an inspiration to anybody who wants to be a professional wrestler.
Cupid possesses incredible heart and determination, and used it to
achieve his dream of being able to entertain in front of an NWA East
crowd. While thinking with his heart rather than with his brain has
hindered his win-loss record, Cupid continues to be one of the most
popular performers on the NWA East roster. But, don't mistake that for
Cupid having a lack of success. Not only is he a former NWA East Tag
Team Champion, but he also holds a pinfall victory over NWA National
Heavyweight Champion Crusher Hansen.
We'd like to take this time to thank Cupid for all his contributions to
NWA East and his hard work and determination in his nine year career
here in NWA East.
