Wrestling eXpress!

Scottie Gash was set to get get exactly what he
wanted...a match for the PWX Heavyweight
Championship aginast current champ Stryder on
the live event Saturday, February 4th at 7:30pm
at The Wrestleplex (2125 Beacon Street,
McKeesport, PA 15132).
However Gash sent this video to Pro Wrestling
eXpress pulling out of the match and claiming to
boycott PWX until his demands are met. Gash is
referring to the stipulation that he won at a
tag team match in January. Upon winning thsi tag
team match, Gash was awarded the right to name a
stipulation for a title match at date to be
chosen by him. Gash turned in his stipulation
for the event this Saturday, but rumors have it
that the stip was so ridiculous that the PWX
Championship Committee UNANIMOUSLY agreed to not
allow Gash to have that particular stipulation.
Hello PWX fans! We're here with a big news
update: PWX has added 5 new dates to the live
event schedule for 2012! This news was announced
several weeks ago on the official PWX Facebook,
but we've got the OFFICIAL announcement,
including the new dates at the PWX Wrestleplex!
Some dates have been added, and some have been
shuffled around, but it all means MORE PWX
action for you in 2012!
All of these events will take place on at the
PWX Wrestleplex, located at 2125 Beacon St. in
McKeesport, PA. All events will also take place
on Saturday evenings with a bell time of 7:30

We're back with Episode 5 of "The eXpress Lane"
with Marcus Mann, the official Podcast of Pro
Wrestling eXpress!
This week, Marcus Mann and Benjamin C. Steele
review New Year's Knockout, and interviews PWX
Heavyweight Champion Stryder!

You can also access the Podcast page via the
menu bar at the top, under "Media" then "Audio".
The PWX Media Staff has been plenty busy this
week, as we also have a brand new episode of
After The Bell as well, featuring comments from
the PWX locker room after New Year's Knockout..
Marcus Mann of the PWX Podcast "The eXpress
Lane" is the host of a new video segment
entitled "Match of the Night". This week's
edition features Mann, BC Steele, and Scottie
Gash talking about Brandon K vs. Chris LeRusso
from PWX's 17th Anniversary Show, including the
entire match in full!
In the next video, we see Benjamin C. Steele
preparing his new charge, Jack Pollock, for a
career in SteeleCorp.
Finally, Chris LeRusso talks about being fined
for his actions at the end of New Year's
Knockout when he threw Brandon K off the stage
onto a table.
--This Saturday Night is PWX's New Year's
Knockout! It will take place at
the Wrestleplex at 2125 Beacon St. in
McKeesport, PA, just across the street from UPMC
McKeesport Hospital. Have you seen the
Wrestleplex for yourself? It is a truely unique
building designed exclusively for wrestling!
Check it out!
--There are two big news stories being released
this week. The first of which is a new signing
from the PWX Scouting Department. The new
signee's name is not being released at this
time, but rumors have it that this man is a
former champion in the area and will be making
his PWX debut. Who could this possibly be?!
--The other big news story is that Championship
Committee members Shawn Patrick & Quinn Magnum
have finally agreed on something! This Saturday
night, New Year's Knockout will be under NO
RULES! Nobody is in charge, any weapon can be
used legally, and anything can happen! This will
surely be a chaotic night as PWX kicks off 2012
with a bang!
--The big main event signed for New Year's
Knockout is a tag team match with championship
implications. PWX Heavyweight Champion Stryder
will team up with Chris LeRusso to take on
Scottie Gash & PWX Three Rivers Champion Brandon
K, collectively known as Excellence Personified!
At Christmas Chaos, Shawn Patrick made this bout
after the end of the big Christmas Chaos Match.
Scottie Gash had Stryder in a crossface, but
meanwhile Brandon K pinned interim-Three Rivers
Campion LeRusso to win the title. Gash &
Brandon, who have history as former NWA North
American & PWX Tag Team Champions, haven't
teamed since Gash's shocking turn on Stryder in
November at Fan Appreciation Night. Some are
saying the duo aren't on the same page, and the
ending to Christmas Chaos may be an indicator of
that. But on the other side of the ring, Stryder
& LeRusso aren't exactly the best of friends. To
add to this, the winners of the match will get
to choose the stipulations to their title
matches when Stryder defends against Gash and K
defends against LeRusso! Which team will come
out on top in this one?
--How did Benjamin C. Steele get his hands on
the contract of Morgan Rockafeller?? Poor
Morgan...
--At Christmas Chaos, JR Mega took advantage of
the 24/7 Wild West rules of the PWX Brass
Knuckles Title and pinned Chris Taylor as he
made his entrance to win the title. Now, Taylor
will get a rematch against JR Mega at New Year's
Knockout this Saturday. Unfortunately for him,
it will be in a triple threat match also
involving Mega's tag team partner Ashton
Amherst! Will Taylor be able to overcome the
odds and regain the title?
--"The Future" arrives on January 14th as Calvin
McGrath returns to PWX! This monster powerhouse
has made his mark on PWX in the past, and has
been signed by the Scouting Department to return
this Saturday night! How will this effect the
PWX roster, especially with no rules?
--With The Shirley Doe Experience injuring PWX
stars left and right, Crusher Hansen & Dash
Bennett have stepped up and agreed to take
things into their own hands. Doe & Apollyon took
out Hansen's brother Tony, as well as one of the
Blue Dragons, and Crusher & Dash have had
enough. Will they be able to stop the path of
destruction the Experience have left in their
wake?
--Payton Graham is on a mission to prove he
belongs in the PWX Circle of Respect. In
addition to tacking his own picture on the
Circle of Respect wall at the Wrestleplex, he
mocked Mad Mike at Christmas Chaos. Now, he'll
have his chance to prove he is among the elite
in PWX as he takes on Ryan Mitchell! A win here
for "Platinum" Payton could very well back up
his case that he is as good as he says he is.
But to do that, he'll need to defeat one of the
fastest rising stars in PWX history, a former
PWX Heavyweight and Three Rivers Champion, 2009
Sean "Shocker" Evans Tournament winner, and one
of the most popular wrestles in PWX! Will he be
able to topple the "Steel City Prodigy" and earn
his right among the upper echelon of PWX?
--Since his return to PWX, Jon Burton has had it
out for Shawn Patrick. The Championship
Committee member forced Burton out of PWX under
unscrupulous circumstances, and now "Big Homey"
is back and wants revenge... or at least, an
explanation! On Saturday night, Burton plans to
call out Shawn Patrick and confront him in front
of the PWX crowd! Will he finally get the
explanation he deserves?
--SteeleCorp member Ryan Reign is looking to
make 2012 his year. His first step is to make a
name for himself against Mad Mike! Reign has a
big task ahead of him as Mike is not only a
locker room leader and one of the most respected
veterans in PWX, but is also the angriest
wrestler on the planet and a PWX Grand Slam
winner! If there's one man in PWX to make
yourself a name off of, it would be Mad Mike..
but Mike is one man you do not want to make even
angrier than he already is!
--Stay tuned this week for the PWX 2011 Year End
Award ballots!
--In a non-title match, PWX Tag Team Champions
the Iron City Monsters will take on the new team
of Travis Fame & Blue Dragon. Fame & Dragon
actually requested this match to see how they
would fare as a team in the PWX tag team
division. Meanwhile, Gator & Beast have had eyes
in the back of their rather large heads, as
there seems to be a target on their back as of
late. Not only have they been attacked by The
Shirley Doe Experience, but theteam of Paul
Atlas & Troy Lords seemed to have their number
at Christmas Chaos. Will the Iron City Monsters
bring a big W the City of Pittsburgh is looking
for? Or will this be the start of an "Excellent
Adventure" for Dragon & Fame?
--Don't miss New Year's Knockout, THIS
Saturday Night, January 14th, 2012, at the PWX Wrestleplex!
There will be no rules, so anything can
happen!!! The card is as follows...

and we all hope to see you at The Wrestleplex
on
Saturday night!!!
It has just be learned that Blue Dragon #2 of
the tag-team Double Dragon is out indefinitely
with an injury at the hands of The Shirley Doe
Experience at the Christmas Chaos live event on
Saturday, December 19th.
Shirley Doe and Apollyon viciously attacked both
Blue Dragons as they made their way to the ring
for their match in the PWXmas Tag-Team Title
Gauntlet match. Doe then took it upon himself to
injure Blue Dragon #2 as Apollyon and Blue
Dragon #1 fought in the ring. Travis Fame came
to the aid of Blue Dragon #1 and now it appears
as though these two men will attempt to make a
go of it as a team while Blue Dragon #2 heals.
As was stated earlier, the newly formed PWX
Scouting Department has already made it's first
acquisition and it is a huge one!
'The Future' does indeed arrive in PWX on
January 14th as 'The Future' Calvin McGrath has
signed to compete full time in PWX and will make
his first appearance at our first live event of
the year on Saturday, January 14th at The
Wrestplex(2125 Beacon Street, McKeesport, PA
15132) with a 7:30pm belltime!!
Calvin McGrath is a physical marvel, with a
chiseled physique, and has a great track record
of success in every promotion he enters holding
championships virtually everywhere he goes.
McGrath competed in early 2011 for PWX, but not
on a fulltime basis, but he is now signed and
ready to go. McGrath has already gone on record
of saying that he is ready to take PWX by storm
and will look to dominate the competition from
the very start!!
Be sure to check out www.prowrestlingexpress.com
for all of the latest info and more on the PWX
Scouting Department's signing of Calvin McGrath!
In addition, the first two episodes of the PWX
internet podcast 'The Express Lane' hosted by
Marcus Mann is up and available for free
download on Itunes!!
Pro Wrestling eXpress is
happy to announce the formation of scouting
department as we search to expand our talent
pool as well as supplement our current talented
roster.
The department that has
been put together will begin searching for
talent from the surrounding area and all
throughout the tri state area and even beyond.
Any wrestler that would like to express their
desire to try and receive a chance to work for
PWX can also contact the scouting department a
nwaeast@comcast.net by sending in a brief bio
and any youtube videos of their matches they may
have.
PWX's scouting department
hopes to be able to bring in new talent for our
fans to enjoy and new talent for our current
roster to test their skills against. The scouts
have already formed a list of wrestlers that PWX
would like to bring into the promotion and an
announcement of one wrestler already signed to
come back into the PWX fold will be announced
very shortly!
We're proud to announce the premiere of The
eXpress Lane! The eXpress Lane is a brand new,
half-hour long podcast presented to you by PWX.

Scottie Gash on Christmas Chaos
Robert Parker Williams talks Christmas Chaos and
his condition... sort of...
--Next Saturday Night is our annual PWX
Christmas Chaos event! It will take place at
the new Wrestleplex at 2125 Beacon St. in
McKeesport, PA, just across the street from UPMC
McKeesport Hospital. Have you seen the
Wrestleplex for yourself? It is a truely unique
building designed exclusively for wrestling!
Check it out!
--Scheduled for Christmas Chaos is our annual
Christmas Chaos match! This will feature six
competitors, three of which are PWX singles
champions. Or will it? PWX Three Rivers Champion
Robert Parker Williams suffered a broken sternum
at Fan Appreciation Night and we haven't heard
word on whether he is medically cleared to
wrestle or not. Despite that, PWX Heavyweight
Champion Stryder and PWX Brass Knuckles Champion
Chris Tayor will be competing in the match for
sure.
--There will be three matches to qualify
participants in the Christmas Chaos match as
well. "First Klass" Brandon K will take on
Ashton Amherst, JR Mega will face Dash Bennett,
and Ryan Mitchell takes on the turncoat
"Spotlight" Scottie Gash. Three of these
top-notch PWX performers, all former PWX title
holders, will advance to the Christmas Chaos
match, in which every singles title in PWX will
be up for grabs!
--Team Mega has vacated the NWA North American
Tag Team Championship, citing lack of
competition from the National Wrestling
Alliance. What's next for JR Mega and Ashton
Amherst now?
--Also signed for Christmas Chaos is the return
of Kingdom James! James left PWX in 2000 and has
not been seen in the company since then. A
former PWX Tag Team Champion on several
occasions, we don't have any word on what
Kingdom might be doing at Christmas Chaos or why
he's returning. However, we have heard a rumor
that one of his former Tag Team Championship
partners might have something to do with it...
--At the last PWX event, Fan Appreciation Night,
"Platinum" Payton Graham started a new path in
his career. He began the night by adding his own
photo to the PWX Circle of Respect wall at the
Wrestleplex. He then defeated newcomer Jack
Pollock, and in the process had three PWX
managers (BC Steele, Shawn Patrick, and Morgan
Rockafeller) scouting him. In his haste to make
a name for himself at the expense of the Circle
of Respect, he forgot that Championship
Committee member Quinn Magnum is a member of
that Circle of Respect. And so is his good
friend, Mad Mike! So now on December 17th,
Graham will have to take on the "angriest man in
wrestling"! Will that stop his Circle of Respect
quest in its tracks?
--Crusher Hansen has long been rumored to be a
long lost cousin of "The Lariat" Stan Hansen.
Crusher even adopted the signature Hansen Lariat
into his moveset several years ago. On December
17th, he will have to face somebody in PWX who
is becoming known for his hard hits and
decapitating lariat: "Notorious" Shane Taylor.
Taylor has branded himself the "new era of
badass" in PWX, and is looking to prove that
against Crusher. In this "Battle of the
Lariats", who will come out on top?
--Just where has Stacy Hunter been lately,
anyways?!
--Four tag teams will compete for the PWX Tag
Team Championship in the first ever PWX-Mas Tag
Team Title Gauntlet match! Current champions the
Iron City Monsters will be included in the
match, as well as the Shirley Doe Experience,
Double Dragon, and the team of Paul Atlas & Troy
Lords. The tag team title race is hot & heavy
right now. Beast & Gator, the Monsters, won the
titles at Fan Appreciation Night. Immediately
after, they were targeted by Atlas & Lords.
Throughout the course of the match, Blue Dragon
ran out and prevented Doe & Apollyon from doing
anymore damage than they already did on Tony
Hansen's knee. What will happen when these four
teams fight it out gauntlet-style on the 17th?
--Speaking of Tony Hansen, we have yet to hear
word on how his knee is or any timetable for a
return. We will keep you updated as we hear the
news.
--What would Christmas Chaos be without an
appearance from the man himself, Santa Claus!
Old Saint Nick is reportedly a HUGE PWX fan, and
wants to come see all his great fans in
attendance! What will happen when Santa Claus
comes to town?!
--Don't miss Christmas Chaos 2011, next
Saturday December 17th at the PWX Wrestleplex!
The card is as follows...
Christmas Chaos Match:
PWX Heavyweight Champion STRYDER vs. PWX Three
Rivers Champion ROBERT PARKER WILLIAMS w/
Benjamin C. Steele vs. PWX Brass Knuckles
Champion CHRIS TAYLOR vs. ??? vs. ??? vs. ??? All PWX Singles Titles up for grabs!
Christmas Chaos Qualifier:
"The Spotlight" SCOTTIE GASH vs. "The Steel City
Prodigy" RYAN MITCHELL
Christmas Chaos Qualifier:
JR MEGA vs. DASH BENNETT

ASHTON AMHERST vs. "First Klass" BRANDON K
PWX-Mas Tag Title Gauntlet:

"Notorious" SHANE TAYLOR vs. CRUSHER HANSEN
"Platinum" PAYTON GRAHAM vs. MAD MIKE
KINGDOM JAMES returns to PWX!
An appearance by SANTA CLAUS!
And much much more!!!
-Thanks for reading this edition of "Hot News"
and we all hope to see you at The Wrestleplex
next
Saturday night!!!
JR Mega & Ashton Amherst, collectively known as
Team Mega, have effectively vacated the NWA
North American Tag Team Championship, citing
lack of competition.
After PWX Fan Appreciation Night 2011, cameras
caught up with PWX stars about what happened
that night! This is PWX: After The Bell #2!
Ashton Amherst also sent this video to
ProWrestlingeXpress.com explaining why he didn't
show up for Fan Appreciation Night, and laying
out his plan of attack for December 17th, as he
takes on Brandon K!
As of midnight on Saturday November 19th, PWX
and Terry Ring will part ways. His final match
in PWX will take place that night as he defends
the Brass Knuckles Title against a fan-picked
opponent. Win, lose, or draw, this will be his
final match in PWX.
A change has also occurred with a recently
announced match. "The Next Trending Topic" Jack
Pollock will now take on "Platinum" Payton
Graham on the main event, rather than on the
pre-show.
UPDATE: As of midnight on Saturday November
19th, PWX and Kid Cupid will part ways.
The Uprising of Sean Reznikk and Thomas Adams
will not be in attendance at Saturday's Fan
Appreciation Night, nor in December at Christmas
Chaos. This puts their PWX roster status into
question.
Also, Shirley Doe contacted PWX officials and
informed them Chase Aaryons is no longer a
member of the Shirley Doe Experience. This puts
his PWX roster status into question as well.
Welcome to the first "Hot News" of the New
Beginning of PWX!
--The first news we have to report is the new
way you can access the PWX website. In addition
to
www.nwaeast.com and
www.nwaeast.org,
you can now visit us at
www.prowrestlingexpress.com! Hopefully this
makes your browsing experience that much easier!
--The biggest news we have is that Jon Burton is
back! Reportedly, "Big Homie" was set up by
Championship Committee member Shawn Patrick.
Burton was scheduled to take on JR Mega back in
September, but was unable to make it to the
event. The reports we heard indicated that Shawn
Patrick knew this information leading into the
event, and convinced another Championship
Committee member Quinn Magnum to make the match
a "Freed or Fired" Match, in which the loser
would be fired from PWX. Thus, when JB wasn't
there to compete, he lost via forfeit. Burton
showed up at the 17th Anniversary Show by
surprise. When he confronted Magnum about the
situation, Magnum offered him a new contract! We
don't have word on how Shawn Patrick feels about
the situation, but the Orange Dynamo can't be
too pleased!
--This Saturday Night is our annual PWX Fan
Appreciation Night event! It will take place at
the new Wrestleplex at 2125 Beacon St. in
McKeesport, PA, just across the street from UPMC
McKeesport Hospital. The Wrestleplex got rave
reviews after our 17th Anniversary Show, come
see it for yourself! Big props to the PWX team
for all their hard work in preparing the
building!
--Signed for the main event is PWX Heavyweight
Champion defending against the thorn in his
side, Ashton Amherst. After Stryder retained his
title in the big three-way ladder match at the
17th Anniversary, Shawn Patrick was livid. He
immediately made a match between Stryder and
Amherst, and since it's Fan Appreciation Night,
he ordered the match be a "Fans Pick the
Stipulation" Match! We here at
ProWrestlingeXpress.com feel the decision was
questionable at best. Do YOU think Amherst
deserves his title shot? Let us know on our
official Facebook page
HERE!
--After the success of our first Pittsburgh
Dream Match between Super Hentai and Chris
Taylor at our 17th Anniversary Show, PWX
officials were quick to sign another one for Fan
Appreciation Night, and it's a doozy! For the
first time ever, "First Klass" Brandon K will
take on Jason Gory! Trained by Shirley Doe &
Super Hentai, Gory is widely regarded as one of
the top high-flyers in the Pittsburgh area.
After capturing several titles in the area, Gory
expanded beyond Pittsburgh, competing for
Cleveland area promotions Pro Wrestling Ohio and
Firestorm Pro, as well as Dragon Gate USA and
EVOLVE in the NY/NJ/Philadelphia area. Now, Gory
comes to PWX to take on the best we have to
offer: Brandon K! Brandon is a former PWX
Heavyweight Champion, PWX Tag Team Champion, and
NWA North American Tag Team Champion, and his
previous ventures outside of Pittsburgh for WWE
and TNA have been documented at length
elsewhere. This will surely be one to watch this
Saturday night!
--There are several "Fans Choose" matches at Fan
Appreciation Night, including several title
matches! PWX Three Rivers Champion Robert Parker
Williams and PWX Brass Knuckles Champion
"Showtime" Terry Ring will defend their newly
won titles against opponents chosen by the fans.
PWX Tag Team Champions The Hansen Brothers will
defend their titles against The Shirley Doe
Experience as well as the fans pick between
former two PWX Tag Team Championship teams: the
Iron City Monsters and Double Dragon! Fans will
also pick two participants in a one-on-one
match, basically creating a match on their own!
--Is there dissension in The Uprising? Payton
Graham had a singles match on the pre-show of
the 17th Anniversary Show, while Sean Reznikk
and Thomas Adams interrupted T. Rantula's Circle
of Respect induction, only to get waylayed by a
sign from Quinn Magnum. There was reportedly a
backstage altercation between Graham and Reznikk
while Adams stood by and tried to play mediator.
What is going on within the Uprising?
--Another match this Saturday night will be a
5-on-5 encounter between 5 of the best PWX has
to offer taking on 5 of Shawn Patrick's "chosen
ones". Patrick's team will be represented by JR
Mega, Shane Taylor, Devin Devine, Paul Atlas, &
Troy Lords. While we don't know who will
represent PWX just yet, Several people on the
roster have been put off by the actions of Shawn
Patrick and his followers in the last year, so
much so that it could fill up the team with at
least a dozen members! Who will be the chosen 5?
--A new match we have to announce will be a
pre-show match between Jay Flash and "The Next
Trending Topic" Jack Pollock. Pollock is the
newest graduate of the PWX Wrestling Academy,
the first of the New Beginning era. In addition
to training at the PWX Academy, he received
additional training from Lance Storm at the
Storm Wrestling Academy in Calgary, Alberta,
Canada! Will his match with Flash in fact make
him the "next trending topic" in PWX?
--Don't miss Fan Appreciation Night this
Saturday, November 19th at the PWX Wrestleplex!
The card is as follows...
PWX Heavyweight Title Match: STRYDER (c) vs. ASHTON
AMHERST w/ Shawn Patrick Fans Pick the Stipulation!

Payton Graham def. Jay
Flash in a pre-show match
The first match to start off the new WrestlePlex
featured Uprising member "Platinum" Payton
Graham taking on former Shirley Doe Experience
member Jay Flash. Graham picked up the victory
with the Certified Platinum.
Jimmy Nutts def. Ryan Reign in the finals of the
Futures Cup Tournament
Once the actual show began, we determined the
winner of the Futures Cup, signifying that this
individual could very well be the future of PWX.
With help from a distraction by Terry Ring,
Benjamin C. Steele slipped Ryan Reign a roll of
pennies, which Reign used to get the win.
However, referee Ronnie Starks saw the pennies
and demanded the match be restarted. With that
Jimmy Nutts rolled Reign up in a small package
to get the win!
After the bell, Reign, Ring, Steele, and Robert
Parker Williams surrounded the ring ready to
attack... until Jon Burton made the save! He
said he had some friends willing to help, and
brought out former PWX Tag Team Champ QB Blitzz!
Blitzz then brought out Circle of Respect member
JB to help! With that, JB, QB, JB, and Nutts
cleared the ring of the Golden Reign trio and
stood tall!
Robert Parker Williams def. PWX Three Rivers
Champion Dash Bennett, Terry Ring, Travis Fame,
Devin Devine, & CJ Sensation
Eric Xtasy wasn't able to make the event due to
a family emergency, so instead, CJ Sensation
took his place! Sensation won the title last
year, and retired in February without ever
losing the belt. There was way too much action
to recap in this one, but it was all capped off
by Robert Parker Williams stealing the pin and
winning the title for the very first time!
Scottie Gash def. Paul Atlas & PWX Brass
Knuckles Champion Troy Lords in a handicap match
to win the title
People scratched their heads when Brass Knuckles
Champion Troy Lords offered Scottie Gash a
rematch for the title after practically stealing
a title win at the PWX Academy while Gash was
training a student, taking advantage of the Wild
West 24/7 Rules of the title. Lords' plan was
revealed at the Anniversary Show, when he
announced the match would instead be a Handicap
Match with Gash taking on both Lords and Paul
Atlas (with Shawn Patrick and Curtis Stevenson
at ringside). Gash attempted to even the odds
with his longtime manager "King of Rats" Damian
Stockholm at ringside with him! The two-on-four
advantage seemed to be too much, but while the
referee was down, Gash's Super Duper Cool Dudes
partner Justin Idol hit the ring and took out
Atlas & Lords! The advantage allowed Gash to hit
Gash2Sleep for the win and the title!
T. Rantula was inducted into the Circle of
Respect by PWX owner Jim Miller. But, after T's
acceptance speech, he was interrupted by
Uprising members Sean Reznikk and Thomas Adams!
Reznikk appeared upset that they weren't booked
on the show, but T and Jim were able to take up
time. When they were about to attack, the lights
went out and Quinn Magnum's music hit! Magnum
cleared the ring of the Uprising with a street
sign, and congratulated T in his induction!
The Iron City Monsters (Gator & Beast) def.
Armageddon (Rapture & Revelation)
Former PWX Tag Team Champions Armageddon were no
match for the newly-rebranded Iron City Monsters
in this one. Led once again by CK Fortune, the
Monsters made quick work of Rapture &
Revelation, disposing of them in about 14
seconds!
Brandon K def. Chris LeRusso
Brandon's "decade of dominance" was on the line
here, as K had been undefeated at all 9 previous
anniversary shows he had competed on. He had
refused to face LeRusso for weeks until LeRusso
finally made things personal and verbally
attacked K's family. With that, K brought in
some family to back him up at ringside: former
NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion and K's cousin,
Vince "Big Time" Kaplack! Kaplack's presence
played a part, as LeRusso was about to hit K
with a chair, Kaplack grabbed it away, allowing
K to roll up LeRusso for the win! The Kaplack
cousins celebrated with a stirring rendition of
"Jessie's Girl"!
Ryan Mitchell def. JR Mega
After months of not being able to get his hands
on JR, Mitchell finally had his chance at the
17th Anniversary Show. However, special guest
referee Scott Venom appeared to be paid off by
Shawn Patrick before the match with an envelope.
This allowed Mega to cut corners and try to
cheat to win. But Mitchell wouldn't stay down.
Finally, All Business Brant, Venom's former tag
team championship partner, hit the ring with an
envelope of his own. After opening it, Venom hit
the hissing DDT on Mega, which allowed Mitchell
to drop the big elbow for the win!
After the match, Ashton Amherst attacked
Mitchell. This led to Chris Taylor making the
save for his friend. But former PWX Tag Team
Champion Klubber Korbelic made his return,
apparently a hired gun for Team Mega! As he was
beating Mitchell down,
Big Playa appeared for the first time in over 12
years! Playa and Klubber went at it, until Super
Hentai hit the ring with a sign, chasing Klubber
and Team Mega off! Hentai and Taylor uneasily
shook hands before they were to meet later in
the night...
PWX Brass Knuckles Champion Scottie Gash def.
Tony Johnson
Terry Ring def. PWX Brass Knuckles Champion
Scottie Gash to win the title
During intermission, several PWX wrestlers were
ringside signing autographs and taking photos
with fans, including Scottie Gash & Damian
Stockholm. When Gash tried to make his way to
the back. he was attacked by Shirley Doe
Experience member "Iceman" Tony Johnson,
attempting to get the Brass Knuckles Title! Gash
was able to hit the Gash2Sleep to put him away,
but was then confronted by "Showtime" Terry
Ring. As Ring made his way to the ring,
Stockholm turned on Gash, throwing powder in his
face! Ring rolled up Gash for 3 and walked away
the NEW Brass Knuckles Champion!!
Mad Mike def. Shane Taylor
The "Battle of the Bad Asses" was exactly as
everybody expected... hard hitting, intense, and
brutal. Taylor dominated Mike for the majority
of the match like nobody we've ever seen. He
knocked Mike off the top rope when Mike was
going for his signature leg drop. But as he was
lining up "the angriest man in wrestling" for a
lariat, Mike ducked and rolled up Taylor for 3!
Taylor looked on in disbelief and the two men
stared down for several moments after the match.
The Hansen Brothers (Crusher & Tony Hansen) def.
PWX Tag Team Champions The Shirley Doe
Experience (Shirley Doe & Apollyon) in a no
rules match to win the titles
Something that hasn't been seen in a PWX ring in
several years is a brutal weapons match. These
two teams brought the weapons back to PWX in a
big way during this No Rules Match! Stop signs,
traffic cones, and baseball bats saw their way
into this match, which also spilled out to the
floor several times. Other members of the
Experience, Tony Johnson & Chase Aaryons,
attempted to interfere but were run off by
Double Dragon. With Shirley Doe out on the
floor, the Hansens hit the 3D on Apollyon on a
pile of street signs for the win and the titles!
Chris Taylor def. Super Hentai in a Pittsburgh
Dream Match
This is what most fans and experts are referring
to as the match of the night! Two of Pittsburgh
wrestling's biggest and brightest stars did
battle for the first time ever, and it was
everything everybody expected. Both men were
evenly matched, and it came down to a battle of
wills. Taylor attempted a superplex off the top,
but was thrown off by Hentai. Hentai went for a
sunset flip off the top, but only got 2. He
swung for the fences with a clothesline, Taylor
ducked and rolled Hentai up with a backslide for
the 3!
PWX Heavyweight Champion Stryder def. Ashton
Amherst and Patrick Hayes in a three-way ladder
match
The biggest night in PWX history was capped off
by one of the most incredible ladder matches the
company has ever seen! Ashton Amherst,
accompanied by Shawn Patrick and a surprise
appearance by Krystal Frost, took on Patrick
Hayes and PWX Champion Stryder. Amherst was
slammed onto the ladder so hard at one point,
the ladder broke and a gash appeared on his
back! But that didn't stop him from delivering a
huge fisherman buster to Hayes off the ladders!
All three men were down at one point, and Frost
got bold and attempted to climb the ladder for
Amherst herself! But she took too long screaming
at the fans and was caught by Patrick Hayes, who
delivered an incredible Pick Me Up gutbuster off
of the ladder! Hayes then ascended the ladder
and hit a huge frog splash onto Amherst! He was
then inches away from getting the title when JR
Mega appeared with a sign. Hayes countered by
dropkicking the sign into Mega's face. But the
distraction hurt Hayes' knee and kept him on the
floor. Amherst attempted to climb the ladder,
only to be tossed Stryder's rugby ball and
speared by Stryder, who came from the top rope
to the ladder! With Amherst down from the spear,
and Hayes' knee on the floor, Stryder was able
to climb the rungs and retain his title!
After the match, Shawn Patrick was livid and
demanded Stryder defend the title against
Amherst in a "Fans Pick the Stipulation" match
at Fan Appreciation Night on November 19th! In
addition, Hayes challenged Shawn Patrick to a
5-on-5 elimination match where the remaining 5
men in Patrick's camp (Troy Lords, JR Mega,
Shane Taylor, Paul Atlas, & Devin Devine) take
on 5 of PWX's best, headed up by Hayes!
The PWX 17th Anniversary
Show will see the return of former Three Rivers
Champion Super Hentai! That night in McKeesport,
PA, he will take on the longest reigning PWX
Heavyweight Champion in history, Chris Taylor in
a first time ever "Pittsburgh Wrestling Dream
Match"! Both men are often referred to as the
best wrestlers the Pittsburgh area has to offer,
and they will do battle for the first time ever
at the anniversary show!
Super Hentai had some words for his opponent
this Saturday night, and sent this video to the
PWX Web Staff...
Welcome to the new Pro
Wrestling eXpress website! We can be located at
www.nwaeast.com
or
www.nwaeast.org. Take a look around, enjoy
yourself, and we hope to see you at the 17th
Anniversary Show this Saturday night at the
'Plex!
Current NWA-East Heavyweight
Champion Stryder has truly been a fighting
champion during his now over four month long
reign as champion. In addition to his successful
defenses in the NWA-East against any and all
contenders, Stryder has defended the NWA-East
Championship three times in other NWA promotions
as he first successfully defended the title
against Billy Lit at NWA Mountain State in Rand,
WV. He then defeated fellow NWA-East wrestler
Terry Ring at NWA Premier in Logan, WV. Finally,
Stryder defended the title against Scott Raines
at NWA Mountain State in Summersville, WV.
These defenses, along with his numerous other
title defenses in the NWA-East, has made Stryder
one of the busiest champions in recent history.
Now, the question is when is the right time to
start discussing Stryder as one of the best
champions in the 17 year history of the title?
Plus, with the way Stryder is blowing through
the competition, can he be the first champion in
four years to seriously make a run at Chris
Taylor's unbelievable 14 month long title reign
record?
Troy Lords has been in
virtual hiding since using the 'Wild West' Rules
that are currently in place for the Brass
Knuckles Championship to sneak the title off of
Scotte Gash. The rules for the title are simple.
The title can be defended at all times,
anywhere.
Now, Troy Lords has issued an open challenge to
the man he took ...the title off of, Scottie
Gash, to defend his title at the 17th
Anniversary Show on Saturday, October 29th.
Lords has made a bold move here and has to have
something up his sleeve by actually offering to
defend his title.
Gash hasnt been seen nor heard from since he was
attacked from behind by Lords and lost the title
while training one of his students. Will Gash
resurface and accept Lords challenge? What does
Lords have up his sleeve?
We have obtained exclusive
footage taken at the NWA East Training Facility
last night! In this video, Troy Lords attacks
the NWA East Brass Knuckles Champion Scottie
Gash and pins him for the title, using the "Wild
West 24/7" rules that Gash used to win the title
from Lords at the last NWA East event!
How will this be addressed this Saturday night
at Desperate Measures 5? What will Scottie Gash
say... or do... about this??
The news broke late last
night here at nwaeast.com: Ashton Amherst
suspended following an altercation with a fan.
We've received full word from the NWA East
Championship Committee on the situation.
Apparently, before the last NWA East event, a
fan saw Ashton walking into the building and
asked him for an autograph. The young man was
obviously a big fan of Amherst, but the NWA
North American Tag Team Champion wouldn't give
him the time of day. When the young man
persisted, Ashton demanded he buy a ticket, then
slapped him.
The fan recorded the incident and sent the video
here to us at NWA East. Footage of this
disturbing incident follows...
NWA East does not condone the actions of Mr.
Amherst, rather they condemn them. An incident
like this does not go by without reprisal.
Therefore, after viewing the video, the
Championship Committee has ruled that Amherst
has been suspended indefinitely from NWA East.
As a result, he loses his title shot at the NWA
East 17th Anniversary Show on October 15th,
2011.
Instead, a match between Patrick Hayes and Ryan
Mitchell, scheduled for this Saturday September
3rd's NO LIMITS event, will determine the #1
contender for the NWA East Heavyweight Title.
The winner of the match will get Amherst's title
shot at the biggest NWA East event of the year,
the 17th Anniversary Show.
The NWA-East returns to The
Jacob Woll Pavillion(4112 Sycamore Drive
McKeesport PA 15132) on Friday, August 12th with
a belltime of 7:30pm, but the event has been
rocked by controversy on several levels!
This is supposed to be the event that begins the
highway to the biggest show of the year, the
17th Anniversary Show, but several items of
controversial nature has placed a dark cloud
over the promotion.
First, the once-again mega popular Ryan Mitchell
is making his long awaited return to a NWA-East
ring against up and comer Ryan Reign. Mitchell
created his own controversy this past week as he
made several negative remarks about the National
Wrestling Alliance, ruffling feathers of the NWA
higher-ups in the process, but that is not even
the real controversy in this matter. NWA-East
Championship Committee member Shawn Patrick has
gone on record stating that he wants to meet
with Mitchell inside the ring during the live
event to discuss the future of his NWA-East
career in front of all his fans. Patrick has
indicated that Mitchell's career indeed may hang
in the balance. The fulltime absence from the
NWA-East of Ryan Mitchell at the hands of Shawn
Patrick would be extremely upsetting to the
great fans of the NWA-East and a major blow
talent wise to the promotion as a whole. Does
Patrick truly have the goods on Mitchell?
Meanwhile, the other member of the NWA-East
Championship Committee, Quinn Magnum, has
stirred the pot himself as he has declared that
the current state of the NWA-East Brass Knuckles
Title has become mundane and boring. As a
result, Magnum has stated that he will indeed
deliver a major shake-up of the title itself and
whoever walks out of the Contenders Series
elimination match as champion. This announcement
has everyone involved in the Contenders Series
elimination match for the title up in arms, not
to mention the rest of the locker-room as
wrestlers truly seem to be on edge with the
unpredictable Magnum at the helm.
In fact, the four-way elimination match that is
to determine the Brass Knuckles Championship has
already had a wrestler eliminated before the
match ever even started. Jon Burton informed the
Championship Committee that he had to be in
Washington DC to cover the Steelers preseason
game as a part of working radio's 93.7 The Fan.
Shawn Patrick, the man who made this elimination
match, promptly declared that Burton was
disqualified from the match and with that
several months of hard work by Burton went out
the window.
In even more potential controversial news, there
is a strong rumor circulating that the NWA-East
has reached a contract agreement with Kato. Kato
is a longtime veteran of the central and western
Pennsylvania independent wrestling scene having
owned and operated his promotion, KCW, for
several successful years. However, Kato has also
been known to be a major problem child in the
ring and behind the scenes in whatever promotion
he has been in and news of his potential signing
has already made wrestlers on the current
NWA-East roster question things openly and make
their displeasure known. This could certainly be
just the beginning of the most controversial
signing in the NWA-East in years.
In addition, controversy has threatened the much
anticipated 'dream match' for the NWA-East
Heavyweight Championship between champion
Stryder and the winner of the 4th Annual Sean
'Shocker' Evans Memorial Tournament Patrick
Hayes. JR Mega has not stopped complaining about
being robbed in the tournament by both Ryan
Mitchell and Patrick Hayes and has gone on
record saying that if he doesn't get his
rightful title match, then no-one will. Mega
would not elaborate on what he may do or when,
but he continued to remain adamant that he would
not allow the fans to see their dream match on
the main event of this show.
Finally, we have saved the most controversial
item for last as this is even a shocker for us
here employed by the NWA-East. BOTH members of
the Championship Committee have agreed to
institute what is being called the "Freed or
Fired Program". This program is simply in
nature, but potentially catastrophic to members
of the NWA-East roster as the rules are as
follows: on certain random live events, one
individual wrestler will be randomly drawn and
his match that night will become a "Freed or
Fired" match. This means that the randomly drawn
wrestler must win his match or he will be given
his unconditional release from the NWA-East
roster. Literally, under this controversial
program, a wrestlers' very NWA-East career hangs
in the balance. It has been confirmed that the
first randomly drawn wrestler will wrestle for
his NWA-East career this Friday night in the
'Freed or Fired Program'.
Championship Committee member Shawn Patrick had
this to say about this huge decision: " Both
Quinn Magnum and myself have mutually agreed
that this will make NWA-East wrestlers have to
raise the level of their game or they will face
the ultimate consequence, the end of their
NWA-East career as an active wrestler."
Fellow Championship Committee member Quinn
Magnum added " Shawn Patrick and I do not agree
on virtually anything, but this one was a tough
decision that we both felt helped weed out the
strong and competitive from the rest of the pack
with the everything on the line. Who can perform
when it counts is who we want wrestling for the
NWA-East and this program will certainly show us
who those wrestlers are."
The program will run until the end of 2011 when
it will be re-evaluated at the beginning of 2012
as to whether to continue or not. Whoever the
first person is that must wrestle in the "Freed
or Fired Program" match, will be wrestling for
possibly the last time in the NWA-East. That
person will informed of who he is just before
the live event begins on Friday, August 12th at
7:30pm.

minute info!!
The 4th Annual Sean
'Shocker' Evans Memorial Benefit Show on
Saturday, July 23rd at The Jacob Woll Pavilion
(4112 Sycamore Drive, McKeesport, PA 15132) with
a bell time of 7:30pm (doors open at 7pm) will
benefit the McKeesport Youth Baseball
Organization (MYBO) for the second year in a
row. MYBO is an organization that teaches 3-16
year old boys and girls the principles of
playing a team sport and working together toward
a common goal by offering baseball, softball,
and t-ball. MYBO is a respected organization
that has working relationships with many local
McKeesport businesses, the Pittsburgh Pirates,
The Boys and Girls Club, etc... The NWA-East is
proud to say that we too have a great working
relationship with MYBO.
Profits made from the event will be donated to
MYBO in the name of Sean Evans as the NWA-East
pays tribute and honors the memory of our fallen
brother, friend, and family member on Saturday,
July 23rd. Be sure to go to NWAEast.com for all
of the latest information.
From the actual wrestling standpoint of the
event, the main attraction will be the 4th
Annual Sean 'Shocker' Evans Memorial Tournament.
The first round matches are set and ready to go
as this year will guarantee that a new winner
will be crowned as none of the winners from the
first three tourneys are entered. Previous
winners, in order, Chris Taylor, Ryan Mitchell,
and Stryder will not be in the tourney as
Mitchell and Taylor are sidelined from the
NWA-East with injuries and Stryder will be
defending the NWA-East Heavyweight Championship
against the 400 monster Shane Taylor.
This year's tournament has taken a twist as the
NWA-East Championship Committee has afforded the
chance to some of the promotions young 'Futures'
stars to win entry in. They, along with some of
the most decorated wrestlers in the NWA-East as
well as veterans who have won their way in, will
compete in the eight man, single elimination
tournament with the last man left at the end of
the night named the winner of the 4th Annual
Sean 'Shocker' Evans Memorial Tournament and
will be able to hold the trophy up high in
celebration and respect. The winner will also
receive a shot at the NWA-East Heavyweight Title
at the very next event on Friday, August 12th.
One of the first round matchups for the tourney
features JR Mega against the young 'Futures'
star Travis Fame. Mega is one-half of the NWA
North American Tag-Team Champions and also a
former NWA-East Three Rivers Champion. Mega is
undefeated since April when he decided to pursue
singles action once again and will ride a hot
streak into the tourney. Mega has competed in
the tourney before as he lost in the first round
to Brandon K(who is in the tourney this year
too) in the First Annual Sean 'Shocker' Evans
Memorial Tournament. Mega faired better the next
year as he pinned Bobby Shields in the opening
round before losing to the eventual winner Ryan
Mitchell in the semi-finals. It goes without
saying that Mega is well prepared for what he is
about to embark on and will be the favorite
heading into this match.
Travis Fame is a former NWA-East Tag-Team
Champion and has been skyrocketing his way up
the singles rankings for months now as he
continues to impress everyone with his heart and
determination, plus his impressive list of
victories in recent weeks. Fame was able to get
by his friend and longtime ring veteran J-Ru to
gain entry into the tourney and now will face
the egotistical JR Mega. Fame certainly has his
work cut out for him and will enter the match as
the underdog, but this will not deter Fame
what-so-ever. A good showing in the tourney by
Fame would put him in line for title shots at
any title in the promotion and a win against
Mega will put him in position to shock a lot of
people!!
Another opening round match will see Patrick
Hayes square off against Terry Ring. Terry Ring
has come a long way since his servant days for
Robert Parker Williams having made a quick name
for himself wrestling all over the east coast
and now has found himself as one of the young,
bright stars in the NWA-East. Ring gained entry
into the tourney by defeating another impressive
youngster in Jimmy Nutts. Now, Terry Ring has a
chance to pull a major upset by ousting the man
who has made it to the finals in each of the
first two tournaments, Patrick Hayes. Ring has
all of the tools to be a huge success in the
NWA-East and can begin that success right now in
this prestigious tourney. The question is can he
keep his head on straight and not get caught up
in the moment or believe his own hype??
Patrick Hayes is a former NWA-East Heavyweight,
Three Rivers, and Tag-Team Champion and has made
the final dance in each of the first two
tourneys, but has come up short each time. The
difference this time could be the fans
themselves. Hayes was a hated villain in those
two finals losses, but now Hayes is beloved here
in the NWA-East. As long as Hayes does not
overlook Terry Ring, he could go very far and
could even be one of the favorites to win it
all, but lack of focus has been something that
has stopped Hayes before, so now will he be able
to bring his A-game on this big night??
The third opening round match certainly has the
most emotion to it as Brandon K will meet Troy
Lords. Troy Lords was a fan favorite up until a
couple of events ago when he turned his back and
attacked Brandon K and his tag-team partner
Scottie Gash. Lords has shown an entirely new
attitude since then showing his disdain for the
fans and the K/Gash team. Lords is a former
NWA-East Brass Knuckles Champion and the winner
of the original 'Contender's Series' in which he
still possesses a contract for a match at every
title in the promotion. Lords gained entry into
the tourney by pinning Jimmy Nutts in a red hot
match at the last event. Now Lords has a chance
to add insult to injury on Brandon K and make a
name himself by going deep into the tourney.
Brandon K is a former 3-time NWA-East
Heavyweight Champion, 3 time NWA North American
Tag-Team Champion, and a 5 time NWA-East
Tag-Team Champion and is easily one of the most
decorated wrestlers in the nearly 17 year
history of the promotion. K has competed in the
First Annual Sean 'Shocker' Evans having reached
the semi-finals defeating JR Mega and then
losing to Patrick Hayes. K will have his work
cut out for him against Lords and will need to
keep his emotions in check if he hopes to get
past Lords as Lords is someone who can certainly
defeat K. But, K has seen it all and has all the
tools to win the whole tourney. He just needs to
make sure that any singles ring rust from being
in a tag-team for so long comes off quickly so
that he can get things rolling quickly....or
Lords will be the one with his hand raised!!
The final opening round match has a level of
uncertainty to it as Crusher Hansen will face
the winner of a over the top rope battle royal
for the final wildcard spot in the tourney. Some
names that will be competing in the battle royal
include The Beast, J-Ru, Tony Hansen, Apollyon,
Sean Resnik, Ryan Reign, amongst others. It is
anyone's guess who the wildcard entry will be,
but whoever it is will have a huge task in front
of them in Crusher Hansen.
Crusher is a former 3-time NWA-East Heavyweight
Champion, NWA National Champion, NWA North
American Tag-Team Champion, Three Rivers
Champion, and 5-time NWA-East Tag-Team Champion.
He rivals Brandon K and Paul Atlas as the most
decorated wrestlers in NWA-East history and will
be the heavy favorite to make it into the semi
finals of the tourney as his opponent will have
already had to outlast several other wrestlers
just to get into the tourney. Hansen has been in
a tag-team for quite some time with his younger
brother Tony Hansen, who is in the battle royal
to determine who wrestles Crusher. Could it be a
brother versus brother match in the opening
round of the tourney? Crusher did see action in
the First Annual Sean 'Shocker' Evans Tournament
having lost in the opening round to the eventual
winner Chris Taylor. Will he be able to fare
better this time around???
The in-fighting within the
NWA East Championship Committee continues! With
the Sean "Shocker" Evans Memorial Tournament
being postponed from July 2nd to July 23rd, Lord
Zoltan's schedule would not allow him to compete
in the tournament, and NWA East offer our
sincerest apologize to those who were looking
forward to seeing His Lordship in the
tournament.
You might remember from several days ago (or
just read the news below), Crusher Hansen was
pulled out of the Heavyweight Six-Way Scramble
in favor of Championship Committee member Shawn
Patrick inserting Devin Devine in. The NWA
Presidential hopeful Patrick was was upset with
Committee member Quinn Magnum putting Devine
against Zoltan in the opening round of the
tournament! But, because it was only a six-way,
Patrick pulled out Crusher Hansen from the
match, leaving him off the show completely. Now,
Zoltan is out, and Magnum has signed Hansen to
take his place in the first round of the
tournament, taking on the winner of a pre-show
battle royal! What will the Orange Party
candidate have to say about this revelation?!
Ever since Quinn Magnum was
named to the Championship Committee in place of
long-absent Vince Kaplack, things have been
shaken up. Constant in-fighting between Magnum
and NWA Presidential hopeful Shawn Patrick have
led to things breaking down several times, and
the upcoming Sean "Shocker" Evans Memorial
Tournament is just another example.
Originally, Devin Devine was scheduled to take
on Pittsburgh wrestling legend Lord Zoltan in
the opening round of the tournament. With Zoltan
being Quinn's choice of Devin's opponent, Shawn
Patrick pulled his protege Devine out of the
match, instead placing him in the Heavyweight
Six-Way Scramble, alongside Shawn Patrick's
charges Ashton Amherst and Paul Atlas. As a
result, Patrick pulled Magnum's old tag team
championship partner Crusher Hansen out of the
six-way and left in the cold! Now, Zoltan will
be facing the winner of a pre-show battle royal
in the opening round of the tournament!
Got all that? Good! Now, what will Crusher and
Quinn have to say about all this?
NWA East isn't taking the

The NWA-East Brass Knuckles
Championship underwent a major overhaul
beginning this past April at Burgh Brawl 15. The
title was set to be defended amongst four
people, including champion Robert Parker
Williams, across several shows with the four
'Contenders' for the title ...going against one
another in every style of match that could be
thrown at them. To become champion, you must
outlast each of the other three men in the
series. The double elimination rule made it so
that once you lose twice you are out of the
competition.
The Brass Knuckles Contenders Championship can
only be won a few times a year now thus making
it a title that has a new high value for anyone
trying to win it. Chance to win it are few and
far between and you must always be the last man
standing amongst four men.
Current Champion Robert Parker Williams started
out very slow as he suffered the first of a
possible two losses in the first match out of
the gate in the series in a four way dance
between all four men competing in the series.
With his back against the wall, RPW came to the
last event with a gameplan that was executed to
success, though it did involve backhanded
tactics. RPW got a huge win against Jon Burton
to remain alikve in the competition and attempt
to come out of the seires with the title still
around his waist.
However, RPW faces a huge test ahead as he will
go against the only undefeated man in the series
in Mad Mike. RPW virtually robbed Mike of the
title just before the series for the title began
and now he is once again in a must win situation
to remain in the competition. If he loses, then
he is out. On the other side of the ring will
stand Mad Mike, the man who has run straight
through every man he has faced thus far in the
series. Mike is in the drivers seat as he is the
only man left in the series without a loss. He
has the chance to eliminate the current champion
from the series with a win on Friday, June 10th.
The other two competitors in the Brass Knuckles
Contenders Title series will face off as against
each other this Friday, June 10th as Jon Burton
will take on Chris LeRusso. Both men have
suffered one loss each in the competition and
now the winner will continue to chase after the
Brass Knuckles gold while the loser will be
eliminated from the series ending their quest
for the title.
This Friday, June 10th at The Jacob Woll
Pavillion(4112 Sycamore Drive, McKeesport PA
15132) with a belltime of 7:30pm the Brass
Knuckles Contenders Championship Series will
indeed be do or die time for each of the
contenders hoping to walk out of the grueling
series with the title around their waist...
NWA-East's Lou Marconi sent
another video in to NWAEast.com this past week,
which isnt anything out of the ordinary. What
was out of the ordinary is who who addressed in
the video... former longtime rival and current
NWA-East Championship Committee member Quinn
Magnum. Magnum and Lou's history goes back 15
years and this time it was Lou who requested to
Quinn, via video, to look more closely at the
challenger for the NWA-East Heavyweight Title
match that fellow Championship Committee member
Shawn Patrick placed in the match. It was
Patrick's own man Ashton Amherst. Lou pointed
out that he had just defeated Ashton at the last
event and that Lou has been ranked in the top 5
of the NWA-East Eleven Elite Rankings since the
rankings have been coming out. Lou boldly stated
that he wants to be in the title match as well
and told Quinn to do the fair thing.
Well, Quinn Magnum has responded to Lou
Marconi's video and request. Quinn has sent the
following statement to NWAEast.com: "After
viewing Mr Marconi's video, I took it upon
myself to look further into the Heavyweight
Title Match set for this Friday, June 10th. I
find that Lou Marconi indeed does have a legit
complaint in this matter having pinned Ashton
Amherst just under three weeks ago. With Lou's
consistent ranking in the top five, I have
decided that Lou Marconi will now be included in
the NWA-East Heavyweight Title Match thus making
it a three-way dance between champion Stryder,
Ashton Amherst, and Lou Marconi. Unlike Lou's
video's to the NWA upper brass, this video did
not fall on deaf ears with nothing at all being
done about a deserved situtation."
So with that, the NWA-East Heavyweight Title
Match just got that much more interesting as we
now have champion Stryder v Lou Marconi v Ashton
Amherst. The current champion Stryder has been
unstoppable since winning Burgh Brawl 15. He
would go on and become the first man, since Mad
Mike in 2003, to win Burgh Brawl and then
capture the heavyweight title the next show with
the title shot won at the Burgh Brawl event.
Stryder came in facing new champion Ryan
Mitchell but was able to make it a very short
reign for Mitchell as Stryder was able to make
Mitchell tap out in submission to win the title.
Now, Stryder's first defense will be against two
men that have been to the top of the mountain
before having reigned as NWA-East Heavyweight
Champions themselves. Stryder's work is cut out
for him, but he has vowed to be a fighting
champion and he has hit the road running indeed.
Ashton Amherst has held the heavyweight title on
two occasions and now has his sights set on a
third title reign. Asthon took it upon himself
to ruin Stryder's winning celebration by
attacking him from behind. Only hours after the
attack, Championship Committee member and
Amherst's manager Shawn Patrick granted Amherst
a title match for Friday, June 10th. Amherst has
delcared that he will stop at nothing to get the
title back as holding the NWA North American
Tag-Team Titles for the last year is no longer a
tough enough challenge for him. Amherst has
stated that 'the Ashton era will once again
return with all of it's glory!"
Lou Marconi is himself a former heavyweight
champion having virtually seen and done it all
in professional wrestling. His ultimate goal is
to win the NWA World Heavyweight Title, a goal
he has been chasing for the last year and a
half. Unfortunately, Lou's quest has run into
red tape and backstage politics within the upper
realm of the NWA. Attempts have been made to
silence him. He has even been asked what he
hopes to accomplish which may be one of the most
ridiculous statements this writer has heard in
quite some time. What Lou hopes to accomplish is
the same goal every wrestler in the NWA should
hope to accomplish and that is to become the NWA
World Heavyweight Champion. To Lou's credit he
has not gone away like some have hoped he would
and he has taken down one top contender after
another. Now that he has a spot in the title
match, Lou has a chance to win the title for a
second time and with holding the heavyweight
title in one of the most consistent running
promotions in the entire NWA, Lou Marconi would
make people have to notice him.
The biggest prize in the NWA-East is up for
grabs on Friday, June 10th with three of the
best the promotion has to offer. Who will walk
out of the Jacob Woll Pavillion with the gold???
Friday, June 10th at The
Jacob Woll Pavillion(4112 Sycamore Drive,
McKeesport, PA 15132) with a belltime of 7:30pm
will be the certain proving ground for the
upcoming 4th Annual Sean Shocker' Evans Memorial
Show and Tournament.
The 4th installment of the Sean 'Shocker' Evans
Tournament has already half of it's 8
competitors fielded with three more spots in the
tournament up for grabs on the Friday, June 10th
live event. Already invited into the tournament
are current NWA-East Three Rivers Champion Devin
Devine, current one-half of the NWA-East
Tag-Team Champions Brandon K, and Patrick Hayes.
Already qualifying his way into the tourney is
'Futures' young stud Terry Ring.
Devine, K, and, Hayes were all invited into the
tourney by the NWA-East Championship Committee
because of their past success and level of
pedigree within the NWA-East. Devin Devine is a
Grand Slam winner(meaning he has held every
title in the NWA-East) and the youngest NWA-East
Heavyweight Champion in the nearly 17 year
history of the promotion.
Brandon K, along with being on the most popular
wrestlers in the history of the NWA-East, is a
former three time NWA-East Heavyweight Champion
and three time NWA North American Tag-Team
Champion as well as a 5 time NWA-East Tag-Team
Champion.
Patrick Hayes is a former NWA-East Heavyweight,
Tag-Team, and two time Brass Knuckles Champion.
Hayes also owns a highly successful rate of
victories in the previous three Sean 'Shocker'
Evans Memorial Tournaments.
This year, the NWA-East is granting it's
'futures' stars a chance to shine with several
of them getting placed into qualifying matches
for entry into the tourney. NWA-East 'Futures'
wrestlers are the young up and coming wrestlers
that represent the future main-eventers in the
NWA-East. Thus far, Terry Ring has risen to the
occasion by winning his match at the last event
and, as a result, has gained placement into the
tourney itself. This will be a huge opportunity
for Ring as he is the first 'Futures' wrestler
to qualify for the tourney that could really put
his name into title contention if he has a great
showing.
As for June 10th, there are three more Sean
'Shocker' Evans Memorial Tournament Qualifying
matches scheduled. The first is a match between
two bitter rivals over the past 3 years as JR
Mega will battle Patrick Hayes. Hayes is already
in the tourney, but Mega needs to win this match
to gain his entry into the tourney. NWA-East
Championship Committee member Shawn Patrick(and
manager of JR Mega) attempted to give Mega free
entry into the tourney based on his own pedigree
within the promotion, but the other Championship
Committee member Quinn Magnum had other thoughts
as he stated that Mega did not have the same
level of success as the three men already
invited into the tourney citing a lack of a
heavyweight title reign as one major reason. As
a result, Magnum has ordered Mega to face
someone that is already in the tourney, Hayes,
and he must win his match to gain entry. If Mega
fails to win his match, then Magnum will have
the right to select someone outside the
promotion for that slot.
The second qualifying match for the tourney will
be between two good friends as the veteran J-Ru
will face off against another 'Futures' wrestler
Travis Fame. The two men are indeed friends and
have been a tag-team together, but this match
will see any friendship go out the window as a
prestigious entry into the tourney is on the
line. This is one of the two veterans versus
'Futures' matches of the evening as two more
young up and comers will have the chance to step
up their game and make an immediate impact. Fame
has been on quite the roll as of late and could
be very difficult to beat, but J-Ru has shown
that he has a lot left in his tank since his
return to the NWA-East.
The third and final qualifying match will
feature veteran Troy Lords against very popular
'Futures' wrestler Jimmy Nutts. Lords shocked
the crowd at the last event when he turned his
back on the fans and fellow allies Scottie Gash,
Brandon K, and Chris Taylor, being instrumental
in the injury suffered by Taylor. Nutts has only
been on two NWA-East events in his young career,
but is very popular with the fans and has shown
the 'it' factor already. Nutts actually lost his
match against Terry Ring that saw Ring gain the
'Futures' entry into the tourney. However, due
to overwhelming fan response, Quinn Magnum has
decided to give Nutts a second chance to
showcase himself and win an entry into the
tourney. This will not be an easy task as Troy
Lords is a top competitor that is no stranger to
titles and success inside the ring having been
the person that won the original 'Contenders'
series and the holder of a contract to wrestle
for every title in the NWA-East.
The 8th and final spot in the tourney is
considered a wildcard spot as of right now as
both Quinn Magnum and Shawn Patrick, of the
Championship Committee, are rumored to be in
talks with a former NWA-East wrestler looking to
make a return to the promotion on Saturday, July
2nd.
Friday, June 10th will begin to heat up the
summer months with these three matches, amongst
others to be discussed here in the coming days,
as everyone is jockeying for position into the
4th Annual Sean 'Shocker' Evans Memorial
Tournament. Be sure to check out NWAEast.com for
all of the up to the minute info!!
On Saturday, July 2nd, the
NWA-East will once again pay homage to one of
their fallen brothers in Sean 'Shocker' Evans.
Sean passed away in 2007 after a two year long
battle with cancer, but he will never be
forgotten by his family and friends.
Each year, the NWA-East has a live event
dedicated to the memory of Sean Evans. This
event allows everyone to celebrate Sean's life
and it all goes to a good cause as all profits
are donated in Sean Evans' name to a charity or
organization that is geared towards helping
children or making a child's life a little bit
better.
Last year, the donation went to the McKeesport
Youth Baseball Organization(MYBO) which has
almost 200 kids in it's organization. This
program is designed to allow children from 3
years of age to 16 years of age have a
constructive atmosphere in which they learn how
to work together as a team in the sport of
teeball, baseball, and softball. The MYBO is
associated with such respected institutions as
the Boys and Girls Club and the Pittsburgh
Pirates as well as having the continued support
of many local businesses and even local
political offices.
The NWA-East is proud to announce that we will
be, once again, working with the MYBO in regards
to the 4th Annual Sean 'Shocker' Evans Memorial
Show as all profits from ticket sales, drawings
throughout the night, and Chinese auction basket
giveaways, etc will be donated from the NWA-East
to the MYBO in Sean Evans' name.
Each of the first three memorial events were a
celebration of Sean Evans' life as well as a
truly giving night as many fans, wrestlers, and
NWA-East personnel showed a great giving nature.
Each of the first three years has surpassed the
previous year in total donations money given in
Sean Evans' name and we will make it our best
effort to make it a fourth year in a row.
The event itself features 50/50 drawings and a
Chinese auction basket giveaway that has baskets
donated by the NWA-East, MYBO, Pittsburgh
Pirates and the WWE, just as of right now. The
wrestling action has the annual Sean 'Shocker'
Evans Memorial Tournament, an eight man single
elimination tournament. It also will have the
NWA-East Heavyweight Title defended against a
wrestle that has never held the heavyweight
title in the 'First Chance' Heavyweight Title
Match. Plus, the 'Heavyweights High Stakes
Match' in which 6 wrestlers compete in a six-way
scramble match that sees the last man left
standing receive a title contract for the
NWA-East Heavyweight Title in the main event at
the 17th Anniversary Show in September. The only
way to qualify for this particular match is to
have held the heavyweight championship
previously.
Our upcoming Friday, June 10th event will have
numerous Sean 'Shocker' Evans Memorial Show
ramifications and will be a red hot lead in to
the great night of giving.
Then, on Saturday, July 2nd at The Jacob Woll
Pavilion (4112 Sycamore Drive, McKeesport, PA
15132) at 7:30pm the 4th Annual Sean 'Shocker'
Evans Memorial Benefit Show will take place.
Please come on out and enjoy a great night of
NWA-East action for a really good cause.
Be sure to check out NWAEast.com for all of the
up to the minute info!!
Last week, one of the
greatest to ever step into a ring, Randy Savage,
passed away after he was involved in an
automobile accident in Tampa, Florida. The
entire wrestling world is still reeling from the
tragic news as wrestling lost one of its top
level performers. Savage was apart of a
wrestling family, as both his father, Angelo
Poffo and his brother, Lanny Poffo were both
wrestlers. Savage started to make a name for
himself in the early 1980s in the Memphis
territory, where he was often managed by his
father, Angelo and during his time there, Savage
had many matches with the territory’s top star,
Jerry “The King” Lawler. It was in 1985 during
Vince McMahon’s national expansion that Savage
would get the chance to apply his skills on a
bigger stage as he debuted in the World
Wrestling Federation and soon became one of the
promotion’s main stars. During the “Rock n
Wrestling” era of the 80s, Savage was involved
in many memorable moments, including stealing
the show in front of 93,000 fans at the Pontiac
Silver Dome in Detroit in a match with Ricky
“The Dragon” Steamboat, which is still talked
about today. Savage’s Wrestlemania success would
continue in the years that followed as he won
the WWF title at Wrestlemania IV, wrestled Hulk
Hogan in the main event of Wrestlemania V, and
won the WWF title again at Wrestlemania VIII in
a match against Ric Flair. These are just a few
of the Wrestlemania highlights for the Macho
Man, who also wrestled Dusty Rhodes, The
Ultimate Warrior, and George Steele on
wrestling’s biggest stage during his time in the
WWF.
As his career continued, Savage became a
spokesman for Slim Jim and his pitch for the
product remains one of the most well known in TV
history. Savage was also a color commentator
during his run in the WWF and was featured on
early episodes of Monday Night Raw. After his
departure from the WWF, Savage signed with World
Championship Wrestling in 1994 and wrestled for
the organization for nearly six years before
taking time off from the wrestling industry.
Despite stepping away from the wrestling
industry, Savage did charity work for several
organizations in his hometown of Tampa.
Without a doubt, Savage personified intensity
and his outrageous interviews in his trademark
raspy voice are among the things that helped
create the larger than life persona of a pro
wrestler for the general population during the
80s. Even though he spent his final years away
from the spotlight, he is on the same level of
Hulk, Dusty, Flair etc. On behalf of everyone
here at the NWA East, sincere condolences go to
Randy Savage’s friends and family. As I said to
Ken during the broadcast last Saturday, Randy
Savage has passed away, but legends never die.
Both of the past two
NWA-East Heavyweight Champions were injured at
the last event and may be out for extended
periods of time. Chris Taylor was jumped from
behind by his tag-team partner for the night in
Troy Lords who then revealed he was now aligned
to Shawn Patrick's vision of the NWA. Lords,
Paul Atlas, Ryan Mitchell, Ashton Amherst, and
Devin Devine attacked Taylor focusing on
Taylor's knee.
After X-Rays and a MRI, it has been revealed
that Taylor has suffered a tear in his ACL. The
question that still needs to answered is whether
the tear is significant enough to warrant
surgery or not. As it stands, Taylor appears to
be out of action for up to three months. If
surgery is required, then Taylor could be out
for up to six months.
This is sobering news for the NWA-East and
Taylor himself as, arguably, the most popular
wrestler in the NWA-East is on the shelf for a
long period of time. Taylor's quest for a third
Heavyweight Title will have to wait until he is
back to 100% but revenge may be on the mind of
Taylor for when he is able to return to the
ring.
In the meantime, it will be up to some of the
young, popular wrestlers in the promotion to
step up their game in Taylor's absence. Guys
like Travis Fame, Jon Burton, and newcomer Jimmy
Nutts will need to fill the void as new
Heavyweight Champion Stryder could very well
take the top spot as the most popular man in the
company.
In a bit of irony, Ryan Mitchell, the very man
that turned his back on Taylor and spent months
feuding with him after the duo were best of
friends, was also injured by the same men who
took out Taylor. It was just earlier that same
night that Mitchell was a part of injuring
Taylor with the men that were his allies.
However, by the end of the night, Mitchell
seemed to come out of his funk right before the
fans eyes as he helped Stryder, the man who had
just defeated Mitchell for the Heavyweight
Title, against Amherst, Atlas, Lords, and
Devine. Mitchell once again heard the cheers of
the fans as it seemed that the real Ryan
Mitchell had finally resurfaced.
What wasn't seen before the live audience is the
vicious attack in the locker room on Mitchell
just after he returned from the ring to help
Stryder by Amherst and company. The attack was
caught on camera and will be on the latest
NWA-East DVD set to come out in the coming days.
The attack was concentrated on Mitchell's
already injured arm and more tests have revealed
a torn bicep. Mitchell is now out of action for
at least 8 weeks and possibly up to 4 or 5
months depending on how his arm responds to the
physical therapy after the repairs have been
made.
Both of these injuries have, in effect, turned
the NWA-East upside down as now the question
arises, Just how powerful is Shawn Patrick's
group in the NWA-East?, and can they even be
stopped? This will be a real test for the fan
favorites of the promotion and, quite frankly, a
real opportunity for some of the young guns on
their way up the rankings....
NWA East has a deep, rich
roster full of young stars that highlight our
live events every chance they get. It is with
this that we announced the NWA East "Futures
Cup"! The 8-man single elimination tournament
begins July 23rd, 2011 at Summer Assault 5 with
first round matches. More first round matches
will then take place August 13th at Infection 4.
The semi-final round matches will take place
September 3rd at No Limits 5, and the final
round will be on September 24th at the NWA East
17th Anniversary Show.
The rules for entry are as follows:
--Must be 22 years of ageor younger, OR have
less than 3 years experience
--Must have never held an NWA East singles
championship (Heavyweight, Three Rivers, Brass
Knuckles). This is a showcase for the future of
NWA East, so a wrestler who has held a singles
championship is already considered a top star in
the company.
NWA East featured a "Futures" preview match on
May 21st as "Showtime" Terry Ring defeated Jimmy
Nutts, and some experts were calling it one of
the best matches on the card. If this is any
indication of the Futures Cup, then NWA East has
a bright future ahead!
For the first time since
2003, the winner of Burgh Brawl was able to win
the Heavyweight Title in their title shot they
received for winning Burgh Brawl. Stryder
defeated Ryan Mitchell to capture the NWA-East
Heavyweight Title this past Saturday night.
Every year the winner of Burgh Brawl receives a
shot at the Heavyweight Championship the
following event with Mad Mike being the last
person to win the title with that shot. As
stated above, that occurred in 2003. Now eight
years later, Stryder has made NWA-East history.
Stryder mad sure that Ryan Mitchell's title
reign was very short, as in 3 weeks, as he rode
the wave of momentum he had into this title
match.
Once again, it was a clean match for Ryan
Mitchell, with no outside help from his new
allies. Mitchell wanted to prove that he didnt
need to have the help of his hated comrades to
be the best in the company and he certainly
proved that when he won the title. But, in his
first title defense, Mitchell could not overcome
the red hot Stryder as this was Stryder's night
to shine.
Stryder was unemployed, having been
unjustifiably fired from the NWA-East by
Championship Committee member Shawn Patrick,
just 3+ weeks ago. However, Stryder was
reinstated by the newest Championship Committee
member Quinn Magnum, won Burgh Brawl 15, and now
has won the Heavyweight Title since April 29th.
The match itself saw many turns of momentum
between the two competitors with each man
unloading everything in their arsenal of moves,
but it was Stryder who capitalized on a Mitchell
error that allowed him to lock his submission
finisher and gain the tap out win.
After the match, Mitchell shook hands with
Stryder, who was then attacked from behind by
current NWA North American Tag-Team Champion and
two time NWA-East Heavyweight Champion Ashton
Amherst. Mitchell actually helped Stryder from
the attack against his ally. Now, Amherst has
made it known that he wants 'his' title back
around his waist and will hunt Stryder night and
day to get the title.
Ryan Mitchell was violently attacked in the
lockerroom following the show by Amherst and his
friends and is rumored to have suffered a torn
tricep at the hands of former NWA North American
and NWA North American Tag-Team Champion Paul
Atlas who locked in an arm submission on
Mitchell during the attack.
Friday, June 10th now will become a scorching
start to the summer as it has been signed Ashton
Amherst v Stryder with the NWA-East Heavyweight
Title on the line!! We will have more updates on
Ryan Mitchell's condition as it comes in. Stay
tuned to NWAEast.com for all updates...
